🚨IMPORTANT POLICY UPDATES

🚨NO MORNINGS🚨
I am no longer doing drop in visits before 12pm. I work my route geographically in the most logical manner, and my route changes every day. I require understanding and flexibility that my start times vary.

🚨ONE VISIT PER CLIENT PER DAY 🚨
I am no longer accepting or doing breakfast or twice-per-day drop-in visits. I am now doing ONE trip through Capitol Hill each day, and I work through my route geographically. This reduces the biking trips and backtracking, and helps to ensure balance and long-term physical sustainability.
My apologies to the clients I will no longer be able to serve.

🚨CAPITOL HILL ONLY🚨
In order for me to provide the best quality care for all of my clients, and to maintain balance in my life, I will no longer be servicing outside of Capitol Hill, or beyond my 1-mile radius. No exceptions...

———-
I have been in love with cats for as long as I can remember! I became a cat-parent at 14-years old, and have been doing pet care for others for just as long. This is my full-time gig. I have taken care of hundreds of cats over thousands of visits. Right now, I live in a house of three cats and 10 humans. I have a lot of experience giving medications of all sorts. I have special relationships with many kitties around Capitol Hill!

*MEDICATION EXPERIENCE*
-Oral Medications (physical administration, pill pockets, and hiding in food)
-Food Powders
-Inhalers
-Oral Syringes
-Injection Syringes
-Subcutaneous Fluids
-Paw Gels
-Ear Meds

*MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS*
I care a lot about providing quality care, and making sure all medical needs are taken care of smoothly. Because of this, I have a few requirements for taking care of kitties with medical needs.

Unless I am grinding meds into your cats food, I require:
-1 hour bookings. 30 minutes is not enough to take care of meds and all other cat-care tasks.
-Trim your cats nails or use claw caps.
-If they are a hider, block off access to under the bed/couch hiding spots.
-A test run at the meet & greet prior to you leaving town for our first booking.
-Please provide high value treats, large towels for “burrito-wrapping”, and any other tips you have to take care of your unique kitty.

Long-Haired Cat Owners: If I am to scoop your litter boxes manually, I require visits to be once every-other day at minimum. This is to prevent unsanitary and uncomfortable matting.

**My Day-To-Day**
I run my own small digital media business (photography, video production, blogging) from home, which gives me lots of flexibility for pet care whenever or however I am needed!

My route is organized geographically each day, and (like a package delivery driver), is different every day.

Because of this, start times may slightly shift from day to day.

On a typical day, I do my route of drop-ins around the Capitol Hill area in the afternoon/evening. During my cat drop-ins, I take care of food, water, medications, litter boxes, and get lots of snuggle and playtime in (unless it's a kitty that needs their space). Kitty snuggles are one of my favorite things in the world.

I also include plant care, packages, and mail service if needed

On average, I do 4-6 drop-ins per day in addition to my house-sitting clients.

I provide detailed photo and written updates with each daily session.

**PHYSICAL KEYS**
-I prefer to use lockboxes for key exchanges.
-I have several lockboxes outside my home for clients to pick up and drop off keys at your convenience, though it's great if you have one of your own.
-Keychains/tags are not necessary, and I prefer to not receive any delicate or sentimental. I have a tag system for both long-term and short-term clients.
-The KeyMe kiosks (inside Safeway and QFC) can make copies of any key, including key fobs for about $7.

Learn More About Zephyr

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for over 20 years, and have been professionally full-time sitting for 3 years. I have worked with hundreds of cats over thousands of visits.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy the cuddles the most. My favorite cats climb up on my chest and purr so sweetly. I also really enjoy getting a shy cat to warm up.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three kitties in my home, Tarot, Miso, and Sabrina. They are the sweetest fluffvalls and I feel so lucky to come home to them.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Take the time to make sure you and your sitter are a good match for each other. Cat-sitters take care of not only one of your family members, but one of your most important assets, your home. Take the time to find someone you trust to get the job done the way you prefer.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I require one meet & greet prior to taking care of your cat for the first time, which I offer free of charge. I prefer to do these in-person so that in addition to understanding your specific needs, I can be shown where things are located, do a key exchange (if applicable), and potentially meet your cat(s). Please do not force an introduction if your cat is shy or unwilling. I have an intake questionnaire to get to know how I can best take care of your cats! I prefer weekday meet & greets, as weekends are especially busy.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always am careful when coming into a home for “escape artists”. I pay attention to all windows, and make sure to lock and check doors when leaving. Please let me know if I should expect anyone else on the premises- housekeepers, gardeners, contractors, nannies, additional care-takers, or otherwise.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I work every federal holiday. I generally work 7-days a week, and try to make myself as available as possible, especially for my regular clients. If I do plan to take time off, I will put it in the top of my bio, well in advance.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My top 3 toys would be laser pointers, teaser wand toys, and this automatic rolling toy I have that cats go wild for!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I am a firm believer of respecting a cat’s boundaries. If a cat is shy, I may let them sniff my glasses so they can become familiar with my scent. Giving high-reward treats or wet food is a quick way to become a cats best friend. Cats forget to be scared when they are in “hunt mode”, so I regularly bring a laser pointer to meet a new cat. I sometimes use pheromones as well. I always let a cat come out and warm up to me in their own time.

Zephyr is good with my kitties, very understanding of kitty quirks and has a knack for bringing them out of their shell. Also very communicative and helpful -- lots of fun photos and helpful ones, like photos of the litter and water levels. Additionally, we had a couple logistical things go wrong during our trip (all either totally random or our fault) and Zephyr very kindly jumped in to troubleshoot wifi and otherwise save the day. Cannot recommend enough!

Zephyr was an absolutely amazing cat sitter! From our very first meeting we were reassured — we have an anxious and often growly cat and he felt so calm in Zephyr’s presence that he even came out of hiding and asked for a pet! Zephyr is communicative, patient, and super prepared! We cannot recommend Zephyr enough!!

Zephyr is great with our kitties, super communicative, and a delight to work with! Something weird always seems to happen when we go out of town (this time it was our call box going out) and Zephyr is really good about rolling with the punches and figuring it out.

Zephyr was so caring and took wonderful care of our babies while we were away. He engaged them in play and gave them their meds, and we were so grateful to have had him here.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
