Hi, I’m Savanna. My family calls me a millennial cat lady. After the loss of my childhood cat, Whitesox (Traditional Tuxedo cat), I wasn’t quite ready for another cat so I started pet sitting for friends, family, and colleagues. Still having the deep love and adoration of cats, I inevitably adopted my current bundle of fur, Capt. Jack Sparrow Eater (Typical Black fur goblin), who is 5 now during kitten season. I gave the cat distribution system two years to do its magic but I got impatient. Jack is the sweetest of sweet boys with a healthy amount of sass to complement and I would do just about anything to keep him happy and pampered. I love when owners let me know how they typically engage with their pets or how their pets prefer to be engaged with. I also love when they leave profiles of their pets. I love getting a snapshot of their personality from your perspective and then getting to meet them when I’m sitting and seeing it myself. I love meeting new kitties and getting to love them even if it just for a few short hours or a few short days. I have been a volunteer at the regional Animal shelter and I am in the process of becoming a cat foster, I have summers off and Jack is developing only cat syndrome. I have cared for cats with special diets, and routine medications. When sitting for a new cat I really appreciate when I can meet the Kitty with their human for the first time day of or even a few days prior to the sitting if possible. I can totally manage if that’s not feasible schedule wise, but I find that it helps with kitties who might get anxious meeting new people, and with kitty’s overall comfortability. It also give me an opportunity to learn about kitties routine, any special care instructions, and ask questions so I can best take care of your cat. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve cat sat for quite a few different kitties across breed, age, and special needs (kitties requiring medication administration). I have been pet sitting casually on and off since 2016 but cats are particularly my favorite.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I like getting to meet new kitties in an environment where they feel most comfortable and can be their truest kitty selves. I also like the idea of being able to provide comfort care and companionship to kitties while the special humans are away. I know I can fill the void of their special human but I can make sure they aren’t lonely and have what the need while their humans are away.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite sitting reservation was for a kittie named Dwayne, he was a tuxedoed tabby who was pretty shy but very sweet. His owners let me know that he probably wouldn’t engage too much with me because of his shyness and that they really just wanted a presence in the home for a few hours a day and feeding watering and litter duties. But on day 2 Dwayne was very brave and spent the entire time following me around as I attended to his needs/space and the next day he even cuddle with me on the couch. We were definitely buddies at the end of our week together. He was the sweetest and with patience and letting him direct how we engaged payed off. I got to sit for Dwayne 2 more times after that. His owners were very surprise he wasn’t under the couch or bed the entire wee.

Savanna was wonderful! She met with me before the trip to go over feeding and care details and to meet our recently adopted cat Luna. I was worried about leaving Luna because she is still a little skittish about visitors and hides under the bed, but once we talked about the daily care and Savanna’s experience I felt confident our cat would be in good hands. During the trip, Savanna checked in and sent me pictures of Luna and let me know she warmed up and came out from her hiding place to get pets and eat everyday. It made my trip so much more enjoyable that I didn’t have to worry. I highly recommend Savanna and I will definitely check her availability for my next trip!

Savanna was amazing! She came to the rescue at the last minute and followed instructions to the letter. My cats absolutely loved her and warmed up very quickly. I got two updates a day with lots of pictures included and I am very happy that I left not only my fur babies but my home in her good care. Wonderful just wonderful!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
