Cat Sitting in Seattle, WA

Hello! My name is Julie. Hearing cat's meow makes me smile. I love them and pets of different shapes and sizes. I have been a cat owner for over 20 years and previous to that I had dogs for 7 years. I now have a tuxie named Boogie whom I rescued in 2020. And on 2023, a client of mine need to rehome their cat and I ended up adopting Harry who is now 14.

I look forward to meeting your fur babies. I will play with them, give them cuddles and belly rubs (only when permission is granted) as much as they want. I am trustworthy, responsible, detail oriented and will respect you, your cat and your home. Your peace of mind and your cat's comfort and safety is my priority. I look forward to meeting you to learn more about your cats so I can give them the best care...

I serve the following neighborhoods: Seatac, Des Moines, Normandy Park, Tukwila and some areas in Renton, Burien & Kent.

Please send me a message prior to making reservation, provide your address or at least the cross streets, & dates of service.

I am also currently volunteering at RASKC (Regional Animal Services of King County) in Kent. I was presented with Outstanding New Volunteer recognition for May 2022. At RASKC I am with the Early Morning Cat Crew (EMCC), a vet assistant helper, pet food bank crew. As a member of EMCC, we ensure that the cats have clean and tidy cages. This is essential to avoid transmission of disease. Previous to that I worked at the hospitality industry for 30 years.

On my free time and when I am not cuddling with Boogie and Harry, love to travel, dance, hike, take a walk in the park, make diaper cakes, and collect magnets, pins and snowglobes. I am proud to show them if you ask me to. 😹

Learn More About Julie

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting with Meowtel since May 2022, and I’ve gained experience caring for cats with many different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m proud to have been recognized as a Top 10% sitter in 2023 and 2025, and a Top 5% sitter in 2024. I truly enjoy building trust with both cats and their humans and making sure every cat feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their family is away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy spending time with them and making them feel safe, happy, and cared for while their humans are away. I love giving them attention, playtime and companionship so they don’t feel lonely or left behind.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

It’s hard to choose just one favorite reservation, but the most rewarding experiences for me are with shy or nervous cats. I love the moment when a cat who has been hiding finally feels comfortable enough to come out, approach me, and even allow pets. Earning their trust feels really special and reminds me how important patience and gentle care are.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, I do! I have a tuxedo cat named Boogie and a Siamese tabby named Harry. Harry actually started out as one of my cat-sitting clients, and he ended up staying with me when his cat mom had to move out of state. They’ve both taught me a lot about different cat personalities and care needs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I’d recommend checking reviews and choosing someone experienced, reliable, and patient with cats. I also think it’s important to book through a trusted company with strong support for both customers and sitters, because happy and well-supported sitters provide better care. A good sitter will communicate clearly, follow your cat’s routine, and make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable while you’re away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My typical process starts with a meet-and-greet where I ask a detailed set of questions to make sure I understand everything about your cat’s routine, personality, and care needs — especially for first-time clients. I try to be proactive so nothing important is missed, including feeding schedules, medications, favorite toys, hiding spots, and any special behaviors or concerns. This helps me provide the best possible care and keeps both the cat and the cat parent comfortable and confident while they’re away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I take safety and security very seriously for both the cats and the home. During the meet-and-greet, I ask important questions to learn if a cat is an escape artist and to make sure I know where their carrier is in case of an emergency or evacuation. I’m always careful when entering and leaving the home to prevent cats from slipping outside, and I do not allow cats onto decks or outdoor areas. Before I leave, I also put away string toys or anything that could become a hazard while unsupervised. My goal is to keep the cats safe, comfortable, and stress-free at all times.”

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes. Most holidays. Since holiday periods book up quickly, please send me a message before booking. It is helpful if you include the duration and frequency of visits you’re looking for.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I don’t really have one favorite cat toy because every cat has their own unique personality and preferences. I usually bring a variety of toys to see which ones they respond to best — some cats love wand toys, laser light, others prefer balls, crinkle toys, or interactive play. I enjoy figuring out what makes each cat happiest and most engaged.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I handle timid or anxious cats with patience and respect for their comfort level. I’ll try to gently encourage interaction using things they enjoy, such as treats, toys, or routines recommended by their cat parents. If they’re still uncomfortable, I give them space and allow them to stay where they feel safe while making sure they’re cared for and not stressed.

I would leave more stars if I could! Julie is so kind and professional with her pet visits. Our meet and greet was a great time to share all our cat info and show her around the house. She brought the cats toys to try and it was clear her affection towards the cats built up their trust in her. We received medication and general updates, photos and videos during our trip and a sweet note with cat toys when we arrived home.

Julie was the first cat sitter we’ve had and she did an amazing job with our senior kitties who need their daily meds. She clearly exudes good energy because they took to her right away. I appreciated the daily updates and could see how much love and care she gave them. Definitely our #1 sitter choice moving forward!

Always so happy with Julie watching our cat! Our cat is very very shy and even though Julie’s watched her many times this was the first time she came out to get love. A very exciting time. Highly recommend Julie!

Julie was wonderful with our fur babies, Malcolm and Simone. She sent us multiple videos every day and it was obvious that they felt relaxed in her presence. She went above and beyond with the playtime, bringing some of her own toys and switching it up every day. We so appreciate her kind and thorough attention and will continue to contact her when we need someone to care for our kitties.

this is was our first time booking with Julie and she did not disappoint! she went above and beyond caring for our two kitties! she took the time to befriend our shy guy, tuckered out our playful girl and brought new and ferret toys to stimulate them each day. our updates were perfect and we loved knowing our kitties were so well looked after while we were away. we would 100000 times book Julie again! you and your kitties would be lucky to have her!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
