My entire family are cat lovers and I have pet-sitted for each of my sisters who have multiple cats with different personalities and different needs. I am also a very clean and organized individual who will respect both your cat’s space and your space as I cat sit. When I start cat sitting for new people, I work best when provided a list of tasks to take care of your cats to refer to as well as a verbal run through of what to expect.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been a cat sitter for my family for many years. Both my older sisters have two cats and one sister also has a dog. I do well with a verbal run through of expectations and a written task sheet to refer to when I cat sit. I love doing it whether it’s sitting and cuddling with them, playing, or just letting them stay in their own space.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy meeting new cats and finding ways to get them to trust me or to get out of their shell.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

About half the time, there is a anxious or timid cat. Usually I will let them come out on their own terms and try to keep a quiet environment so they are not startled. I find those cats do best when there are no sudden movements or sounds.

Not only did Melissa do an excellent job of caring for the cats, she was alert enough to notice a malfunctioning sump pump so we could call in someone to attend to it while we were gone. One of the best cat sitters we have had.

I had to go out of town about a month after my cat had been diagnosed with diabetes. He required injections twice a day. Needless to say, I was worried about leaving him for a few days. Melissa had experience with caring for diabetic cats so that made me feel reassured that he would be fine. She took good care of my sweet boy and provided great communication while I was away! Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
