I have one wonderful kitty of my own, Hojo, and have I been helping take care of family cats for over 10 years. I have taken care of two other precious angel kitties, Norma and Babadook, and have all three of my cats’ paws tattooed on me!
I’m wholeheartedly a cat person, and I find working with cats to be incredibly rewarding because I appreciate earning their trust and getting to know their quirks and personalities... Greetings, my name is Emmett! I'm located in the Arcadia area of Phoenix and have lived in AZ for just over 10 years now. I recently returned to Meowtel after a hiatus due to some life changes. I’ve been sitting since 2023 and have lots of experience using Meowtel as a cat-parent as well!
I have one wonderful kitty of my own, Hojo, and have I been helping take care of family cats for over 10 years. I have taken care of two other precious angel kitties, Norma and Babadook, and have all three of my cats’ paws tattooed on me!
I’m wholeheartedly a cat person, and I find working with cats to be incredibly rewarding because I appreciate earning their trust and getting to know their quirks and personalities. I really enjoy hearing them chirp and talk! I also love when they get so into a chin scratch, that they roll over.
I am experienced in administering oral medications, as my Babadook had a chronic health condition. He received 2 oral medications 2x a day and a prescription food, so I have experience monitoring chronic conditions. I also know how it feels to have to leave the fur-babies and entrust in a stranger, so I make sure to provide the same level of care I would expect from a sitter.
In addition, I have a Level One Fingerprint Clearance card, from my background in the social work field. In my free time I enjoy playing video games, rockhounding, and being outdoors when it’s not sweltering.
Right now, I am only available to sit weekdays after 5:30 pm or weekends, as I am working a full-time job. If you have any questions about my availability, please reach out!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been sitting professionally with Meowtel since November 2023. Before this, I would occasionally sit for friends and neighbors, since I have experience taking care of my own kitties. Fun Fact: My first "job" as a child was sitting for my neighbor's cats.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure to lock the door once I am inside the home, and double-check the door is locked upon leaving. When coming inside, I keep an eye out for any door darters, putting my hands out just in case. I make sure to read instructions thoroughly and ahead of time to prepare for the visit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am usually available during the holidays. This upcoming holiday season is to be determined. Once I know my availability, I will update my calendar.
What is your favorite cat toy?
In true cat fashion, it is not an actual toy at all. I love reflecting the sun off a phone screen and against the wall. My Babadook loved chasing after it!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For cats that are especially timid or anxious, I make sure to give them their physical space and not crowd them. I usually do the cat care tasks first, to allow them time to come out on their own. l also talk to them to help normalize my presence. I have also found that taking off my shoes and reducing that noise can be beneficial as well.

Emmett was a rockstar with our three cats for the almost week we were gone. From the meet + greet where they came prepared to take detailed notes and already knew the cats by name, to being willing to run the trash to the curb for us - just above and beyond. The photo updates were some of the most detailed we have ever received and made it clear that our kitties were getting personalized and loving care. I'm pretty sure it got to the point they didn't even mind us being gone because Emmett was so sweet with them. Emmett had timely responses and was an absolute pleasure to work with. We have used Emmett multiple times to watch our three cats - and for good reason. You could not ask for a more reliable, trustworthy, and caring individual to care for your cats. They even went above and beyond when we forgot to put away our outdoor rugs before we left and kindly tracked the rugs down after a windly storm. Emmett always gives each cat the exact attention needed, and then updates back over to us which we love getting while we are away. Exceptional communication is one of Emmett's strong suits. I had a 2 week trip away and was naturally concerned as to how Gem (my cat) would do with such a long trip. I was lucky enough to be able to book Emmett to come look after her for the whole period. This was a stress-free experience. Emmett came over to chat beforehand so we were able to be clear on Gem's requirements and preferences. Then during my trip Emmett sent me updates at each visit not only letting me know how Gem was but also detail on what they did during the visit. This was so reassuring and removed a major stress point from the trip. Emmett did all the basics (water/food/litter) but also lots of play time and petting and hanging out. Needed a sitter for my rather particular cat. Emmett was fantastic - making sure the basics (food, water, litter tray) were all sorted but also took time to gain my cat's trust , play games when she wanted or just keep her company when she was done with games. I had excellent communication from Emmett including photos and videos- so no concerns about anything while I was away. Can't recommend highly enough if you are looking for someone to look after your cat when away - I will certainly book Emmett again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Phoenix cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
