Now I’m an artist living in Montrose CA with my fiancé and our two sweet cats, Cricket and Kifli. In my spare time I like crocheting, playing games on my switch, and going to pottery class.
Many of my loved ones live out of state, so I know what it’s like to leave your pets behind when you travel. My goal is to make sure you never feel too far from your cats while you’re away, and you can enjoy your vacation... Hi there! My name is Louisa, and I’ve loved cats as long as I can remember. I was only able to adopt one of my own when I moved to Los Angeles, a sweet five year old calico who loves to be held and to meow as loud as she can.
Now I’m an artist living in Montrose CA with my fiancé and our two sweet cats, Cricket and Kifli. In my spare time I like crocheting, playing games on my switch, and going to pottery class.

At meet and greets I always want to let your cats set the tone, introducing myself to them in whatever way makes them (and you!) feel safe. I also want to hear everything you have to tell me about your cats' care. Don't worry about talking for a long time or repeating yourself - if it's important to you then I want to hear it! I am fully vaccinated and happy to wear a mask in your home.
I have experience with all kinds of kitty personalities, from big and loud to quiet and mysterious to timid and curious. My cat Cricket loves to soak up all the attention in the room, and she gives snuggles and big purrs to anyone who enters the house. My cat Kifli is quiet and careful, always assessing a situation for a long time before she decides to engage. I have so much love for both of them, and it's so rewarding to learn and understand the ways they show love in return.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats! Cricket is a twelve year old calico with a big voice and almost no teeth. Shes a real snuggler who wants to be picked up and carried around the house like a little queen. Kifli (Key-flea) is a white and grey who looks just like a spotted egg when she curls up. She's cautious, but curious too! She might get spooked by a new object or person in the house, but inevitably she'll pop her head out to take a look.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Follow your instincts! Every part of a sitter profile matters. If it seems like they've put a lot of thought and effort into their profile and their responses to you via message, they are likely to put that same effort into your cat's care. Read reviews, specifically from cat parents whose pets sound similar to yours, and see how the sitter did. If anything seems off at the meet and greet, don't feel pressured into going through with a booking. Maybe it's not a good fit, that's alright! Have a clear list of your pets needs ready. For my cats, I like to have a google doc I can share with sitters and update as my cats needs change! This includes feeding instructions, sitter expectations, emergency contacts and reminders about my pets preferences.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It's important to meet cats where they're at! I never force a cat to be close to me or approach a cat with big energy. I always say hello, get on their level, and reach out a closed hand from a distance to see if they're interested in coming over to say hi. If not, that's alright! I always try to hold a calm, welcoming energy when visiting an anxious cat, maybe sitting quietly on the floor or offering a treat if they seem curious. Every cat is different, and I love learning their personalities and quirks so they can feel safe around me!

While we were away, she gave me thoughtful, detailed updates with lots of photos and video! She really spent her time playing with him and keeping him company. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Montrose cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

We had just gotten a new kitten and was very nervous to leave but she was amazing took care of our new kitten even was understanding and helpful as the new kitten adjusting to his forever home Puurrrfectly.. and we got so many photo and updates. Louisa took wonderful care of my boys while I was out of the country for two weeks. She gave detailed updates and sent the best pics! I was nervous about getting a cat sitter as it was my first time not asking friends or family to check in on them, but she totally put my mind at ease with her demeanor and expertise at the meet and greet and her professionalism throughout my absence had me completely comfortable and fully able to enjoy my trip.
