What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Besides my own cats, I have watched cats for friends and sometimes professionally over the last 15 years. I have done everything from check-in to sleeping overnight. I have administered some medicine but there are things I don't have experience with (such as injections.) I have cared for cats who are shy, temperamental, who need oral or topical medicine, and who have special diets and other needs.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Well the first thing is to make sure that all doors and windows are secure. The second thing is to make sure there are no dangerous electronics plugged in such as a space heater. I don't leave out any human food (of course I typically would not be eating while cat sitting unless it was a family member.) And the rest is up to the special needs of the cat--if he or she needs certain doors closed or to have food available or medicine.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience is key. Depending on the wishes of the owner, I would let my presence be known but otherwise give the cat space, not trying to pet or play until I can gauge what he or she is comfortable with.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
