My name is Tania and I am a fur mom to 6 rescue 🐈 in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Among taking care of my cats who are of varying ages, personalities and health, I also have helped out neighbors over the years. I have been trained on bottle feeds, special needs cats and medication administration.
Cats much like humans are unique! I like to conduct my visits based on the needs of the household and cats. My goal is to ensure your cat experiences the least amount of anxiety during your time away. Active play is a great way to ease cat discomfort and I ensure to include this in every visit.

Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! This is one of my favorite times to cat sit. I am always in the city for holidays and understand that travel during this time is stressful enough. Having the right sitter is important.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Feathers are an all around favorite. Laser pointers are great to use to descalate situations and a must before feeds.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have several timid and anxious cats. This is really their nature. My goal is to not try to change the behavior but adapt to what the cat needs. Tone of voice and slow movements help to "neutralize" uncomfortable situations. Also, always have a toy in your pocket ready to go!

I have nothing but glowing things to say about Tania and the care she provided to my cranky old man cat, Boogie. He’s almost 16 and like most older cats he has some quirks and strong preferences on who he welcomes into his living space. immediately upon arriving to our Meet & Greet, Boogie walked up to greet Tania without hesitation and after giving her some welcome sniffs, he hung out close by as I walked her through his routine. She sent me daily updates on all the essential info and sent along several photos and videos of Boogie that showed me he that he was not only being a very brave boy but he was very content with her company. I highly recommend Tania as a cat sitter, especially if you have an older cat who needs someone who speaks cat language fluently 😸

Tania was able to charm both my shy and skittish kitties. She successfully gave eye drops to my cat who hates eye drops - no problem. She sent me updates about my fur babies and gave me some great pics. Everything was neat and clean when I came home. I am happy to call Tania my cat sitter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
