Cat Sitting in Chicago, IL

Hello there!

My name is Taylor, I have two kitties of my own, Samson a big black cat I’ve had for 10 years who is very laid back, content to just be near you while watching bird videos online. Then I have Easel, a little gray tri-pawd I adopted in 2023, he’s rambunctious and full of fun, having three legs doesn’t slow him down one bit! So whether your cat is looking for active play or a relaxed hangout, I’m sure I can match their energy. Outside of the cats I have now, my first pet as a kid was a tabby cat named Zoe, who lived to be 19!

I’ve been around animals my whole life, having worked at a barn, a doggy daycare, and most recently at an animal shelter, I love working with...

I’ve been around animals my whole life, having worked at a barn, a doggy daycare, and most recently at an animal shelter, I love working with animals and they love me! One of my main duties was the care and socialization of cats at the animal shelter, I love when I can make a shy kitty come out of their shell.

Having had cats with health issues in the past, I’m familiar with pilling cats, giving subcutaneous fluids, topical ointments, and assisted feeding if any of your fur babies have special needs. I also cared for neonates if you’re in need of a sitter during kitten season! I’m extremely attentive to changes in behavior, appearance, and habits thanks to my time working at an animal shelter.

Outside of hanging out with my kitties, my favorite pastimes are drawing, playing video games, and listening to history podcasts.

I’m currently servicing the areas around Lakeview, and am sitting full time, so I’ll be able to take on more clients during the busy season!

I adore cats and cannot imagine my life without one, they bring so much joy to my life, and I cannot wait to sit for you and make more new kitty friends!

Learn More About Taylor

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Obviously making new kitty friends! I love when someone tells me “oh my cat is usually so shy” and warms up to me right away. The other thing I love is when a pet parent tells me that my services provided them with peace of mind while they were away, that’s my goal for every visit.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two cats, Samson, a 10 year old BIG black cat and Easel, a small 3 year old gray tri-pawd kitty!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Look for someone that has plenty of written reviews, not just five star reviews, and repeat customers! Five stars is great, but I feel like you get a better sense of what kind of sitter they are by written reviews. During a meet and greet make sure they are asking plenty of questions, and that you feel comfortable with them.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love the cat-dancer, it’s such a simple toy, just a little bit of wire and cardboard but cats go nuts for it, my own included!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Having worked at an animal shelter I’m very familiar with fearful kitties and how to read their body language. During a meet and greet I will get down low and make myself small and let cats approach me and sniff my hand (if they want to) If a cat is hiding I’ll try to sit as close to them as they are comfortable, and when possible toss them treats or try to engage them with toys. I find that letting kitties do things on their own terms is the best way to build a trusting relationship.

Today

This was my first time booking Taylor to look after my young, very playful cat Lucy and older (kind of cranky) cat Maude. Taylor sent detailed reports on her visits and several photos and videos which really put my mind at ease that a) they were in very loving, caring hands with Taylor and B) seemed to be getting along OK. I mentioned some ways I tried to manage that dynamic ( especially around feeding times) which Taylor followed to a T. I really appreciated her thoroughness from the meet and greet up through the last day of her visit , and it’s so clear ( as other reviews have noted as well) that she really loves her cat clients as though they were her own and has a really nice way with older, more fragile kitties :) I will absolutely book again and would not hesitate to recommend!

Taylor took amazing care of my boys! She was so detailed with her visit recaps and made sure to always call out anything I’d expressed concerns about prior to her first visit (keeping an eye on litter box habits for urinary issues, checking for any vomit around the house from an overzealous eater, etc). Our more shy cat warmed up to Taylor immediately and the pictures made us feel comforted knowing they were being so well taken care of. I came home to two happy cats and a clean house and I couldn’t be happier to have found such a dedicated sitter!

Taylor was fantastic. Detail oriented, thorough reports and photos after each visit, and, most importantly, was great w our 2 girls who definitely take time to warm up to new people. Even took care of some extras like packages on the porch, and feeding a hamster and a fish! Great sitter. Solid 5/5 stars for Taylor.

Taylor is the perfect cat sitter. She sends me daily details on everything she does for my cats, including food, water, eyedrops, litterbox, playtime, and more. She is thorough, reliable, and caring. She sends me great pictures. I hate to leave my two "boys", but I always feel better when they are in Taylor's care.

I could see by the body language in her photos that Taylor won over my grumpy bestie—a cat once accurately clocked by a vet as “all your friends are afraid of her, right?”—by the end of her visits. She was patient and thoughtful, got Abby’s meds into her reliably, and left me great detailed updates for peace of mind. Thank you!!

We’ve had Taylor watch our cats several times now and she is always amazing! she sends thorough updates with great pictures and takes such thoughtful care of our two cats. One of our cats has IBD and the other is completely blind, so there are a lot of moving pieces, yet Taylor always follows all the instructions I leave and provides them with the utmost care. One of our cats can be easily overstimulated and Taylor is always mindful to respect his space and keep a close eye on his warning signs anytime she visits him. We appreciate Taylor’s specialized care so much and will continue to schedule with her anytime!

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
