A native Chicagoan who is an avid pet lover. I grew up with dogs, but through my work professionally caring for pets I have fallen in love with cats! I am an introvert by nature, and feel very comfortable working with shy and anxious cats.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy gaining the trust of the cats I look after. Coming in as a stranger, and leaving them as a familiar and safe person they can trust.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My first step is to hear from the client more about their furry friend. Their routines, likes, and dislikes. Understand the areas their pet struggle in when their owner leaves them for long periods of time. Then leaning more about what comforts the cat, and how I can incorporate these practices during my stay.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am very respectful of a clients space. I understand that your home is not only a safe space for you, but also the place your cat feels the more secure. I make sure windows and doors are closed at all times for the security of both your cat and the home. Also double checking the space anytime I leave, so there is nothing that can endanger your pet or the home.

Michelle was great as always! She feeds, cleans up after, and spends quality time playing with my cat, which noticeably helps ease her anxiety when I’m away. I really appreciate the extra care she takes during her visits, whether it’s bringing in a package without me even asking or leaving the TV on because she knows it helps keep Sage calm. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and I always feel better knowing Sage is in such good hands.

Michelle is amazing! I highly recommend her to care for your kitties! I work from home so my cats are used to me always being home and they get easily stressed when their routine changes. Also, tbh, they’re spoiled. All of this has made going away difficult…until now! Michelle did a fantastic job following the daily instructions. She communicated often with helpful information. She sent lots of photos. I could tell by the photos she sent that the cats were comfortable and relaxed in her presence, and that as the week went on they showed their personalities more. Other than the cats, Michelle also left the house very clean, and went above and beyond by putting the sheets in the laundry room and taking out the trash. I will definitely be booking Michelle for my future travel plans!

My partner and I were out of town for the holidays and had to leave Pookie at home for a few days. Michelle was the perfect cat sitter as she was transparent, communicative and reassuring that pookie was getting the care & attention needed! After learning that Michelle also had a cat of her own, it made us feel like she’d understand our cats needs and it seemed like by the end of the trip, Pookie felt comfortable enough to play and greet Michelle! Will be contacting her for every trip away made here on out!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
