I have three cats of my own and have rescued, raised, and placed many cats into loving homes, including two pregnant strays whose litters I cared for until adoption. That meant managing nine cats ... Hi, I’m Kate! Cats have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them is something I love. I have over 10 years of experience caring for cats, and I treat every cat like my own by offering loving, reliable, and attentive care you can trust.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began cat sitting at 16 years old. Although my family did not have cats at the time, I loved spending time with them at friends’ homes, so I started offering my care to friends and neighbors. Since then, I’ve cared for cats of all ages, from playful 2-month-old kittens to senior cats aged 18 years. I have experience managing a variety of medical needs, including administering medications, eye drops, and supporting cats on special diets. I’ve also cared for cats with behavioral challenges and rehabilitated kittens with physical issues, such as swimmer syndrome. I always ensure each cat’s environment is safe, comfortable, and enriching while their owners are away. Beyond professional cat sitting, I’ve rescued and temporarily cared for several cats, including two pregnant strays. Each gave birth to five kittens, and I raised the litters until they were 16 weeks old, when all were adopted into loving homes.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats: Sake and Momo (adopted siblings) and Yuzu, whom I rescued from the street as an emaciated kitten with no microchip. They are all on specialized diets, and some require daily medications or eye drops to manage health conditions. They are the light of my life!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Your cat’s well-being is always my top priority. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully and treat both your cat and your space with the same respect I give my own. I ensure your cat is fed, has fresh water, a clean litter box, a safe, comfortable environment, and I keep emergency contacts and vet information readily available. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease.

She picked up our mail and I had some packages show up unexpectedly and she even adjusted her appointment time to put them in the house! that was on top of cleaning the cat box and water fountain. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Kate came to the rescue whenever my wife and I had to visit North Carolina on an emergency trip. I love her! She went above and beyond and I felt my kitties were so taken care of. Kate was absolutely wonderful with my two cats! She not only made sure they were well fed and cared for, but also spent time playing with them and giving them lots of attention. She sent me lots of photos and very detailed notes. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond in providing outstanding care. As an added bonus, my automatic litter box wasn’t working (I left a back up box) and when I came back, Kate had somehow managed to fix it, and had washed and cleaned the spare box. Kate did a great job taking care of our cat while we were away. She was reliable and kept us updated with pics of our cat throughout the trip. She went above and beyond by cleaning the litter box area. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

Kate went above and beyond taking care of our cat Mocha. She was prompt and thorough with her responses. She was willing motivated to go to extra lengths to make sure Mocha had a clean home environment to enjoy on top of food, needs and playtime.
