That meant managing nine cats at once, with a variety of ne... Hi, I’m Kate! Cats have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them is something I love. I have over 10 years of experience caring for cats, and I treat every cat like my own by offering loving, reliable, and attentive care you can trust.
I have three cats of my own and have rescued, raised, and placed many cats into loving homes, including two pregnant strays whose litters I cared for until adoption. That meant managing nine cats at once, with a variety of needs.
I’m experienced in administering medications, from daily prescriptions to eye drops for my own cats, and I’m comfortable supporting cats with special needs. I provide detailed updates and photos after each visit so you can feel at ease while you’re away. Your cat will always receive loving attention and will be safe in my care.
Outside of kitties, I love playing chess and challenging myself to play blindfolded because my cats are always knocking over the pieces!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began cat sitting at 16 years old. Although my family did not have cats at the time, I loved spending time with them at friends’ homes, so I started offering my care to friends and neighbors. Since then, I’ve cared for cats of all ages, from playful 2-month-old kittens to senior cats aged 18 years. I have experience managing a variety of medical needs, behavioral challenges, and even rehabilitated kittens with physical issues, such as swimmer syndrome. I always ensure each cat’s environment is safe, comfortable, and enriching while their owners are away. I also spend a lot of my time rescuing cats, including pregnant strays. I’ve raised several litters of kittens until they were 16 weeks old and all adopted into loving homes.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats: Sake and Momo (adopted siblings) and Yuzu, whom I rescued from the street as an emaciated kitten with no microchip. They are all on specialized diets and some require daily medications or eye drops to manage health conditions. They are the light of my life!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Your cat’s well-being is always my top priority. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully and treat both your cat and your space with the same respect I give my own. I ensure your cat is fed, has fresh water, a clean litter box, a safe, comfortable environment, and I keep emergency contacts and vet information readily available. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I rarely travel and care for cats full-time, so I’m typically available throughout the holidays with no surcharge, ever! I’m always happy to try to accommodate requests even when my calendar appears closed, so please feel free to ask.

I accidentally booked the wrong weekend and she caught it even before I did. she had a jam packed schedule but was still sure to fit me in and was so gracious about it. she even made sure to come by for the full amount of time I’d originally requested despite the fact that she didn’t have me on her original schedule. my three kitties love her and she always sends great updates and pictures. she’s very thorough and very professional. 10/10 would recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

Kate came to the rescue whenever my wife and I had to visit North Carolina on an emergency trip. Kate quickly responded to my request, coming to receive her set of keys and instructions within the hour. Kate sent detailed updates and the most adorable pictures of my kitties daily. I love her! She went above and beyond and I felt my kitties were so taken care of. Kate was absolutely wonderful with my two cats! She not only made sure they were well fed and cared for, but also spent time playing with them and giving them lots of attention. She sent me lots of photos and very detailed notes. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond in providing outstanding care. As an added bonus, my automatic litter box wasn’t working (I left a back up box) and when I came back, Kate had somehow managed to fix it, and had washed and cleaned the spare box. Kate is fabulous. I can travel and be assured my elderly cat is well cared for. Kate updates me daily on what she has done and how my little cat is doing and adds daily pics. She is the best!

Kate went above and beyond taking care of our cat Mocha. She was prompt and thorough with her responses.
