I know first hand how important it is to know that your pets are safe and cared for while you’re away... I am an animal lover and adore cats. I grew up with lots of pets and have had cats all of my adult life, rescuing a tabby kitten and a 1yr old calico. I started cat sitting in my early teens. I appreciate and respect cats varying personalities and independence and love each every one. I have had to manage multiple medications for my cats, including pills, drops, ointments and inhalers and am very gentle and soothing when disturbing meds.
I know first hand how important it is to know that your pets are safe and cared for while you’re away. I will provide a summary of each visit, send pics/ videos, provide food and water (including authorized treats), clean out the litter box, make time for play, and give lots of cuddles to your cat while you’re away. I’m also willing to take care of other home tasks as needed and agreed.
I work part time as a financial consultant for non-profits in the Portland metro area, and I am willing to work with you on scheduled visits to make sure your cat is properly cared for while you’re away. I am fully COVID 19 vaccinated.
I am trustworthy, punctual, patient, respectful and caring and please know that I will care for your cat(s) as if it/they were my own.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a 9 year old Calico named Sage, who is absolutely adorable and the most loving cat I’ve ever known. Sage has a beautiful, soft coat and loves being brushed with the firminator. Sage enjoys playing fetch with balls, springs and toy mice. She greets me at the door when I get home and loves a good belly rub. She adores everyone she meets and lets them know it!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
A meet and greet is important for you, your cat, and the sitter. Giving your precious kitty a chance to meet the sitter with you present will help your cat trust the sitter when they come back when you’re away. It also helps the sitter to understand where everything is and make sure they have all instructions needed. And, of course, it’s always great for you to meet the sitter in person to get to know them and give you some peace of mind that your cat is in good hands.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give cats their space and let them take their time coming to me. I will sit calmly on the floor and not make any sudden moves. When the cat does approach, I always let them smell my hand first before attempting to pet them. I acknowledge that it’s their space and let them take their time getting comfortable with me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
