What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have decades of experience caring for cats and being a cat parent. While I started cat-sitting for pals only a few years ago I have just recently joined Meowtel last year and have met many amazing cats with different needs.This experience has included both short visits and overnight stays as well as providing feeding and litter maintenance . I’ve also administered medication when needed. In every situation, I make sure to maintain the safety and security of my clients’ homes while providing consistent care to their furry friends. Every cat has their own unique personality and I make it my mission to be as engaged as they need during playtime, enrichment or quiet companionship time.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I truly enjoy the company of cats. I’ve had a variety of pets over the years, including dogs, bunnies and other exotics, but I’ve always considered myself a cat person. What I love most is watching each cats personality shine through. Some cats take time to warm up and I find it so rewarding when that trust is earned. I also enjoy discovering what kind of enrichment each cat prefers, whether it’s playtime or simply relaxing together.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a lot of patience and empathy for timid or anxious cats. I always make my presence known calmly and give them time to get comfortable. I approach at their level, move slowly and quietly, and let them come when they’re ready. I pay close attention to body language and respect their need for space and routine. Whether they want gentle socialization or prefer to be left alone, I honor their boundaries. My goal is to create a calm, safe environment so they feel secure. Every visit is on their terms and I’m happy to go at their pace.

Veronica was great with our cats! This was our first time having someone stay with them overnights, as we went on a longer vacation. Veronica gave them their meds, played with them and also cleaned after one of our cats vomited (multiple times). We were continuously updated with photos and summaries of how they were doing. When we came back home, the cats were happy, our home was clean and our packages were waiting for us inside. I highly recommend Veronica!

She takes special care to give them lots of love and keep them entertained, and she’s SO great at sending regular updates (complete with the cutest pictures ever). She provided multiple updates every day for the week we were gone and treated my cats with such kindness and compassion! I can absolutely tell she fed them and took care of the litter box because they were very healthy and happy when we got home! Veronica is AMAZING!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

Veronica is a gem! She is kind, compassionate, attentive, and a true animal lover. I trust her wholeheartedly and it gives me great peace of mind knowing my two fur babies are being so well cared for in her hands.
