I was very impressed with Mariya and plan on hiring her again for a 2 week vacation this fall! Aside from being very communicative, sending lots of pics, and successfully administering meds, my shy-leaning cats liked her. During her walk-through visit, she very gently knocked on my door (since cats don’t like loud noises), spoke in a quiet soft voice and immediately got on the floor. She got to meet AND pet all 3 of my cats within a minute. I have plenty of guests over at my place and that I never happens!! She understands cat temperament and meets them on their level. Mariya is a bonafide cat whisperer. It was the least anxious I’ve ever felt about leaving my babies behind on a multi-day trip away. Thank you again!

Mariya was wonderful! She paid close attention to my very detailed instructions at the meet-and-greet, reviewing them later to make double-sure she understood. She sent thorough updates and lots of pictures, and everything went smoothly despite our kitties' special med and food needs. Our kitties are elderly, frail, and anxious, and they seemed comfortable with her; we would definitely hire her again! :)

Mariya did a great job with my two senior kitties. One of my cats needs daily medication and an inhaler and she handled it with ease. I received thorough updates and lots of pictures and video. You can tell she really cares! I will definitely be asking Mariya to take care of my cats again.

Mariya was so amazing with my cat Chicken, who needed medication every 12 hours. She was always on time and so nice to talk to. She also gave lots of attention to my other two cats. Mariya went above and beyond and I would absolutely get her help again and recommend her to anyone who needs someone to care for their cats!

Very nice lady who obviously loves cats. Besides needing someone to feed my kitties and service their litter box, I really dread coming home to a house covered with cat hair. She was so helpful in agreeing to regularly vacuum clean the carpets and furnishings. I would definitely use her services again.

Mariya did great, my cat is pretty shy but Mariya got her to be friendly, and I think she seemed a bit less stressed than normal when I got home due to having some social interaction. Everything went smoothly, Mariya remembered all the details I gave her and was very flexible and responsive too.

Mariya was fantastic and our kitties warmed to her right away. She sent us delightful updates every morning and evening. It was comforting knowing that someone who loves cats was there for us while we were away.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with Mariya. She was not very personable, warm or friendly when we met her, especially compared to other Meowtel sitters we have hired in the past and had great experiences with. But ultimately the biggest problem was that Mariya cancelled on us after we had already left town for our wedding, leaving us stressed and worried on arguably the most important weekend of our lives. She claimed our cat "prevented her from entering the kitchen" and decided she was afraid of our 8-pound housecat, which is ridiculous, and she cancelled the reservation. Nothing happened whatsoever. It seems she just isn't a cat person and doesn't understand cats or cat behavior. The Meowtel catsitter who came to save the day after Mariya cancelled said they encountered no such behavior or any issues, and said both of our cats (just like the 5+ other catsitters we've hired in the past 6 years) were sweet and calm. I would not recommend Mariya to look after your cats, and honestly I am surprised by all these 5-star reviews. I am giving her 2 stars for taking detailed notes about caring for our cats and for showing up on time. But otherwise our experience with her was disappointing and upsetting.

Mariya truly goes above and beyond every time. I 100% trust her. and she genuinely has a beautiful way with cats, my kitty doesn't warm up to most people. he's a love bug, but only to a very select few. He warms up and feels safe with Mariya immediately. I'm so grateful to have her as my cat sitter!

Mariya took excellent care of my two senior cats! My shy cat warmed up to her quickly and was greeting her at the door halfway through my absence 😂 Was that cat charming on her part or ultimate betrayal on his? The jury is still out. My other cat got her daily bathtub faucet water (it's better than other water, you see...) during every visit and even allowed herself to be brushed, which is saying something. I'm pretty sure these two are just waiting for me to go out of town again so they can hang out with Mariya some more.

Mariya took incredible care of Bo and Penelope. She braved the Portland ice storm of February 2025 to get to our house and make sure our cats were taken care of. She played with, fed, and gave attention to our two cats. Penelope is a shy/aggressive cat and she made sure that she got food and love. When we got back home, both the cats were in high spirits and did not act mad at us for having the gall to leave them. The house was in excellent condition when we got back.

I couldn't be more pleased with Mariya's help with my two kitties while I was away. Mariya sent me daily updates and multiple photos and videos of my cats playing, eating and being loved on! I am so grateful for the wonderful care she provided. I highly recommend Mariya!

Mariya was so fantastic with our kitties. One needs medications daily and Mariya always provided updates on how she was doing each day, complete with photos, texts and videos. It can be stressful leaving pets home when gone for multiple days or weeks at a time, but we were at ease the entire trip. I think our kitties have a new bestie and we will absolutely use Mariya again!

Mariya was such a sweet, professional sitter and gave me total peace of mind that my cat was happy and well taken care of during my first extended trip away from him! I was sent daily photos, videos and detailed updates, and she went above and beyond, doing things like bringing in my mail, leaving a kind note (and even making sure my bearded dragon was okay! I did not expect her to do this and it was a huge relief!). I can’t thank her enough for making me feel that my home and pets were secure while I was away. When I came home, my cat was happy and affectionate as ever, a testament to the great care and love Mariya showed him! Mariya is a wonderful cat sitter! She watched my cat Biscuit for 4 days. Biscuit is usually very shy around strangers but by the second day of visits she was coming out to get some cuddle time and treats with Mariya! Despite Clawed Cat’s opinion, Mariya was everything you could ask for in a cat sitter. She arrived when promised and provided a complete, concise report with photographic evidence of her visit. Is it her fault that Clawed refused to come out of her hiding spot to play? Probably not. I mean, Clawed is a cat after all, and like many cats she just doesn’t care for people (including me). Clawed is looking forward to seeing Mariya again soon, even if she won’t see Clawed. Five paws!
