Cat Sitting in Portland, OR

I may be new to this site, but I am no stranger to cats. I've had cats at home every day of my life and will love yours as if they are my own. I'm observant and detail oriented. I have experience with cats at all life stages. Whether it is a playful kitten, a shy or fearful cat, or a senior cat, I will let them set the pace and do everything I can to keep both you and them comfortable while you're away. I will monitor them for any odd behavior or potential medical concerns. I am also happy to water your plants if needed.

If possible, an emergency contact if I am unable to reach you.

I do my best to be as thorough as possible prior to your time away so that I can care for your cat(s) as you would without having to distract you from your travels.

Learn More About Breanna

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting other people's kitties and winning them over. My goal is to make them as comfortable with me as possible. I know not all cats will warm up enough to let me pet them, but if I can get some cuddles/pets in, I'm a happy camper.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two of my own at home. One has been with me for just over 16 years. Her name is Sadie. I also have a handsome young man who is 2 years old and still a kitten at heart.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would say, pay attention to the questions that the sitter asks about your cat. Are they asking for details on their individual personalities? A sitter should be aware of their quirks and preferences so that they can tailor the care they provide to your unique kitties.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I have a list of questions that I generally go through. Most of the time you guys answer those questions during a first meeting without being prompted. But I still keep my list handy so that nothing gets overlooked.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have had a cat that was very fearful and anxious when she first came into my home. With cats like this, their person (and sitter) needs to take things at the cat's pace. Speak calmly to them, try to move respectfully in their space so that they can see you're not a threat. Never force a cat, anxious or not, into an interaction that they aren't ready for. Pay attention to their body language. They'll tell you what they are and aren't ready for.

After some not so good experiences with Rover, I was a bit hesitant to try Meowtel but Breanna did a great job checking in on my two cats. This is the first time I’ve had a sitter that can administer oral meds to my cat with IBD, which was very helpful. She was also really flexible when making arrangements to transfer keys at the beginning and end of my vacation. Will definitely look to book with her again!

Breanna is great! Made friends with both kitties very quickly, including my shy floof, and took excellent care of them while I was away. Would be happy to have her return next time I'm gone!

Breanna was great at communication and super flexible when I asked if she could visit a day earlier than scheduled to avoid Litter Robot drama (iykyk)!

One of our cats got sick a couple days before our reservation with Breanna was supposed to start. She not only took excellent care of them but was flexible and took on extra medications that our cat needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
