What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love that cats all have their own unique personalities. I love getting to know them and figuring out how to best set them at ease and make them feel safe and loved even while their parents are away. It can be so stressful having their owners away and I want to make it as pleasant of an experience as possible.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one cat named Eponine! I named her after a character in Les Miserables when I was much younger. She’s my darling.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them their space and build trust. I had a roommate with an especially nervous cat, who often was even a little aggressive but the best way to to help them is to make them feel at ease. If I have to be in their space, I’m at their level, I’m speaking softly, not having direct eye contact and allowing them to approach me and not the other way around. Ensuring that their schedule stays the same and playing with them with their favorite toys I’ve also found to be a great way to make them comfortable and even redirect nervous energy.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
