I love cats and all animals really, but I am a cat. I understand them and get along with them really well. I have had my own since I was about 12.

I'm fine with complicated feeding situations (my cats have needed different food for a long time) and comfortable with some meds.
TIMES: I'm available after 10a.m. many days per week and I'm a night owl so late night visits are not an issue. Just message me if you need something outside of normal Meowtel hours or a time that isn't listed. I do have more availability possible by request only, and i can open that up for booking for you.
In addition my 20 minute visits are actually 30. 20 is just not enough for a once a day visit. The price is as listed.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have sat for friends many times in the past years. Mostly cats, and a few rats. On one occasion her cat came down with an inner ear infection. I calmly called my friend and left a message to call me back. I called her vet to ask for advice. I was able to reach my friend and take the poor kitty in and get her started on antibiotic ear drops. I love all their little personalities from the shy "watcher" to the "yeah were totally cool, NO WAIT STOP HISS!". I just handle it with laughs loves and if possible treat bribes.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know new kitties and making them happy. This also makes the human happy which makes me really happy! Lol
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have only one kitty right now. His name is Bear and he's 16.5 years old. I've had him since he was 6 months old. He's in diabetic remission and is thriving with low grade kidney disease and activity activated athsma. And now he's hyper thyroid just like me!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I'd love to come by at least once before the sitting to get to know you and your kitty(ies)/pets. Hence the 7 days notice for new clients. Plus the layout of the house and nuances. I will take extensive notes on routine and what my assignment is as is my nature. I would love to know their favorite toys, pets and treats if ok.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I was raised by a very cautious person. I am happy when neighbors see me coming and going. For over night and extended stays i make little changes to furniture and blankets, and leave a light or two on in the way an overnight guest might. I change this daily or every few days. I try to make it look random and occupied.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I'm not huge on holidays and aside from the occasional family dinner I'm totally down to hang with animals over people. 😊
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let the animals lead the interaction. If they prefer to hide for the first 3 days or the whole trip I'm still going to talk to and let them know i care, I'll use treats and toys to attempt to connect, but unless i see a potty, food or illness issue i will leave them to watching me.

Fern was absolutely wonderful with my kittens! She spent around 30 minutes (instead of 20) with them, which I really appreciated. She was super sweet and caring, cuddled them, played with them, and made sure they felt comfortable and loved while we were away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would definitely recommend Fern and would happily book her again! 🐾❤️

Fern did such a wonderful job taking care of my 2 cats while I was away for an extended amount of time. She went the extra mile and you can tell that she loves and cares for the kitties. She really took her time getting to know them and allowing them to get to know her. one of my cats is super skidish but she warmed up to Fern in no time. Fern sent me photo updates and overall had such great communication. She was sensitive to any of the needs that my cats needed. It was such a pleasure and so comfortable having her cat sit while I was away. I would highly recommend her!

I have used Fern multiple times to take care of my two cats while I was away for extended amounts of time and she has done such a wonderful job each time! Fern puts in the extra care and time to make sure that during her visits cats are not only fed, but entertained, engaged and stimulated properly during their playtime so they don’t get bored. Her check ins are consistent and overall it’s always such a wonderful experience working with her! 10/10 highly recommend!

Rachel is amazing. She's worked for me multiple times. My animals all absolutely adore her. She followed my instructions to the letter, which was really important because I have one with special needs that needs meds on schedule twice a day. I have had other sitters who were late, or even didn't show up at all for some feedings. I have never felt I have to worry whether Rachel will show up on time. She clearly wants to make sure my animals are comfortable, loved, and healthy while I am gone. She is always super responsive to questions, sent me pictures, and was genuinely friendly and easy to work with.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
