What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new cats — or reconnecting with ones I've cared for before. One of my favorite moments is when a cat purrs or seeks out attention, letting me know they feel happy and safe. I also love witnessing quieter moments: a cat curled up in a dreamlike sleep, paws twitching, or the slow transformation of a shy cat emerging from their hiding place to check me out — and eventually, learning to trust.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One friend's cat, Loki, loved to play wildly during my visits. I once captured a photo of him mid-chase — full of energy and joy — and sharing that moment with his owner felt really special. Just a month later, Loki was diagnosed with a rare health issue and sadly passed away. I still look at that photo and smile — at how much life he had, and how lucky I was to be a part of it.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one cat, Onyx — a beautiful 4-year-old Bombay who sometimes tears around the apartment like the wild leopard she must believe she is. I adopted her two years ago and am so grateful she's part of my life. I've had cats for as long as I can remember, and honestly, I can't imagine life without them.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Go with someone your cat can feel safe with. It's essential to find a sitter who's not just reliable, but who genuinely understands cats — their rhythms, quirks, and boundaries. A good cat sitter will respect your cat's personality, whether they're playful, shy, or independent. Ask questions, share the details that make your cat unique, and trust your instincts. And if your cat seems comfortable with the sitter during that first meeting, that's usually the best sign you've found the right fit.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I believe it's essential to recognize when a cat is feeling timid or anxious and to give them the time and space they need to adjust. When I enter a client's home, I approach calmly and quietly, respecting the cat's boundaries. If the cat is hiding or seems nervous, I focus on completing the daily chores first, softly talking to them so they can get used to my voice from a distance. I'll sit down quietly and invite the cat to come to me, but I never force contact — trust has to come at the cat's pace. My experience with the cats I've cared for, combined with working in an animal shelter and a veterinary office, has taught me that a cat's sense of safety and well-being is the most important factor—and the foundation for building trust. Patience and respect are key.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
