As a cat-sitter for multiple friends and work colleagues over the past several years, I've been able to expand my appreciation and understanding of cats outside of a working farm. Every cat I've ever met has a distinctly individual personality: they are simultaneously playful and aloof, silly and serious, curious and cautious. They are careful with their affection, can scare easily, and have a bit of snark..... Growing up on a farm, we always had lots of cats around. My parents always wanted us to know how to take care of our animals properly. We were responsible for feeding/watering and making sure they were brought in to stay safe at night. We also went along if they needed the vet.
As a cat-sitter for multiple friends and work colleagues over the past several years, I've been able to expand my appreciation and understanding of cats outside of a working farm. Every cat I've ever met has a distinctly individual personality: they are simultaneously playful and aloof, silly and serious, curious and cautious. They are careful with their affection, can scare easily, and have a bit of snark...all traits I adore and appreciate.
I've always been drawn to cats and enjoy getting to know them better. To be chosen by a cat is something special as they don't approve of everyone right away, so we really have to earn it, which makes it all the sweeter when they allow us in!
Fully Covid-19 vaccinated and boostered. I keep a supply of masks, hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes in my vehicle. And also wear masks when out in public areas when I cannot be safely socially-distanced.
I work full-time days Mon - Fri as a Payroll/Accounting Clerk in SLU area. So, my availability would be nights after work and weekends. When I'm not hanging out with my kitty friends, I'm busy with my hobby careers as a cake decorator and kitchen gadgets seller. You might also find me watching a movie, cross-stitching/knitting, or enjoying time with my friends.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been watching my friend's cats for many years and have enjoyed meeting new kitty friends with Meowtel since April/May 2022.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Cats are such unique creatures. It's always an adventure to see what their different personalities will bring at each visit.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
The meet & greet is essential. This is where I get to meet their kitties, see their routine & how to best interact. Also a complete kitty profile is a great resource for routine, likes/dislikes, etc.
Are you usually available during holidays?

What is your favorite cat toy?
I think a lot of kitties enjoy the fishing pole or feathers. But a good tunnel with another toy is also a fun time.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I usually just chit-chat as I go about my duties. Try using their name often. But wait for them to approach me. I will try to make sure I know where they're at (if possible). But not really engage with them unless they initiate 1st contact.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

We have a very shy kitty that doesn’t like to come out for guests. That didn’t stop Tenille from trying however and she spent a lot of time coaxing her out and even convinced her once. Tenille also offered to help water some plants in the house and scooped the litter box which we all know is no one’s favorite thing to do. This is the second time Tenille sat for us and when we need another sitter, we will ask her again!

Tenille is FANTASTIC!!! I’ve used her multiple times and she’s beyond great with my cat. Cleans food bowls, does litter, takes out the garbage and leaves the place exactly how I left it. My cat loves her and I’ve started calling her his “other mom”🤣. Highly recommend her!!!
