I understand each pet has a different personality. Rather than attempt to make your pet fit a mold, I will learn their preferences and make sure to respect their boundaries. Do you have a cuddly pet? Well I am happy to pet them and give them kisses for hours. Does your pet prefer to have their space? I am happy to wait until I am approached before interacting with them, or even just providing them with their needs before letting them return to their preferred solace. Each pet deserves to be treated, respected, and cared for in their individual ways. No matter your pet's personality, I will provide this love and respect.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I recommend meeting the sitter before booking anything, and I also recommend giving very clear instructions for your pet(s). Meeting them allows you to feel their vibe and see them interact with your pet(s). It also allows for any questions to be asked on both ends to ensure no miscommunication.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I have handled many escape artists in my day, so I’m used to opening doors quickly and in a way that pushes the cat inwards; I can also bring a large object to help with this if a parent lets me know in advance. I always check with the parent if I see any open cabinets or drawers, windows, or areas where they may not want their pet to be. If there are any choking hazards or items that could harm the pet, I hide them and let the parent know what it was and where it went. I never feed pets anything other than what is provided by the parent. I refuse to go outside with any cats that are not indoor/outdoor, even on patios. Lastly, I account for every pet before leaving, quickly close the door, and triple check that it’s locked.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid and anxious cats are my specialty!! I believe no pet should be forced into interactions they are not happy to be a part of (except for their safety). I go at your pet’s pace, not the other way around. I will respect their boundaries and give them space, but I will always let them know I’m there. I will speak softly throughout the visit, even if they aren’t right next to me. I’ll sit in areas where they can approach safely but also leave at any moment. Building trust requires time and comfortability.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Irvine cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
