Hello fellow feline friends! My name is Stephanie and I'm a lifelong cat lover with a passion for animal care that began in the late 90s when I started fostering stray cats.

Hello fellow feline friends! My name is Stephanie and I'm a lifelong cat lover with a passion for animal care that began in the late 90s when I started fostering stray cats.
Cats have truly been a huge part of my life ever since I was a small child. We always had cats in our home and it was a complete no brainer when I chose to work with them as an adult .
I’ve been cat sitting for the last 15 years but have over 30+ years of experience caring for cats of all sizes and breeds that weren’t my own.
I offer attentive, personalized care for feline friends while their humans are away. I bring a warm, upbeat energy to every visit, and I genuinely enjoy connecting with each cat I meet. Every cat is unique, and I love discovering their individual personalities through play and gentle companionship. Whether your kitty is shy, curious, or full of energy, I’m dedicated to making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Learn More About Stephanie

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite clients are a brother & sister pair of Sphinx cats. Each visit, they greet me at the door and just want constant cuddles with a blanket. They love churu treats and purr so much!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats name is Zoe and is 16. I adopted her at 8 weeks and she was the runt of her litter, still weighing only 6 lbs. She is A Torbie (Tabby/ Tortoise shell) and was born with a broken tail. Unfortunately as she is getting older, she has some chronic illnesses that require me to medicate her twice daily and now have added weekly b12 injections. She’s in the sleepy queen stage of her life, but still quite happy!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

1. I would ask about experience with cats. Cats have unique temperaments- someone used to dogs might not be the best fit. 2. Be clear about your cats needs. Share feeding schedules, litter box details, favorite toys, hiding spots, health issues, and personality quirks. The more the sitter knows, the better they can care for your cat. 3. Request daily updates. A good sitter will send photos or updates so you know your cat is safe and well. Ask how often they’ll check in, and through what method (text, app, etc) 4. Ensure they’re background checked. 5. Leave clear instructions. Write out a cat care sheet: vet info, emergency contacts, routines, where supplies are located and emergency contacts.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Whether you found me through a friend, an app or online, the first step is a quick chat. I’ll ask you about you cat(s), your travel plans, and what kind of care you’re looking for- drop in visits, overnight stays, medications, or anything else specific. I’ll confirm the visit schedule and summarize your cats care plan with you. I stay in touch via your preferred method, sending regular updates so you never have to worry while you’re away. After the stay I’ll do a final tidy-up, dispose of litter waste, and make sure everything is in order. I’ll leave a short summary of the stay and let you know how your cat did.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

As a sitter, ensuring the safety and security of both cats & home is my top priority. Cats are checked on at least once daily and I’ll make observations for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior. I’ll provide consistent feeding and clean water. Any changes in bathroom habits are noted and reported. If required, medications are given on schedule- this includes pills, injections, or topical treatments. Toys and environments are checked to ensure there are no hazards like broken toys or loose strings. I am prepared for emergencies, knowing the location of the nearest vet/ emergency clinic, and emergency contacts. Doors & windows are checked and locked after each visit. Mail is collected and lights are on/off as requested. Watering plants, taking out trash, and maintaining cleanliness in the home. No guests are brought into the home and I will only stay in agreed-upon areas.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I work as a cat sitter full time, leaving my schedule completely open for clients in need of care anytime. In the 2025 holiday season I worked around the clock with sometimes as many as 15 appointments per day!

What is your favorite cat toy?

Laser toy, feather wands and tunnel combo to play fishing for kitties! I also will throw crunchy treats for cats to chase.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Cats are creatures of habit, and change- like a new person entering their space- can trigger fear or stress. Timid cats may hide, hiss, or avoid interacting altogether. I respect their space and won’t force interaction. I let them come to me when (and if) they feel comfortable. I move slowly and stay low, always removing my shoes first. I sit on the floor with them and avoid any sudden movements or loud noises. I avoid direct eye contact, which can feel threatening- I instead will slow blink, which cats interpret as calm and non aggressive. I use a soft, calm voice, speaking gently and consistently, using the cat’s name. I stick to the cat’s regular feeding and play schedule and keep the environment quiet and predictable. I’ll offer treats or toys from a distance to build trust and never invade their hiding spots.

I was so nervous to leave our cat Two home alone for the first time. Then we met Stephanie. Right when she walked in we instantly knew we found the right person. She was so friendly and professional, took notes about everything we talked about and had Two literally eating out of her hands in minutes! We received an update and pictures during every visit and it made all the difference in the world! There is no doubt that Stephanie loves cats like we love cats. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a friend to care for their pets while away.

Stephanie went above and beyond for our extremely shy cats. Even though we warned her that our kitties would probably hide during her visits, she took the time to get to know them, give them treats, and play with them every time. She sent us the sweetest pictures and updates every visit too, which was nice to have as we traveled.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Long Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
