What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I’d always recommend communicating via phone or a quick in-person meet if possible so you can get a good feel for your cat sitter’s personality and confidence with cats. It’s always great to go over your cat’s daily routine with a cat sitter. I personally always appreciate when a cat parent leaves me super clear written directions, especially if there are health concerns, medications, or safety things like if a cat is an escape artist or needs to be kept away from certain areas. Finally, I think it really puts cat parents at ease when they get a promise from their cat sitter to keep in good communication while they’re away. Being separated from your cat can be hard or worrisome, so it’s nice to get reassurance that everything is fine… especially when cute pictures of your cat are involved.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I ask questions and get a very clear picture of the cat’s potential naughty tendencies! Cats are naturally curious and can get bored easily. They all have their thing they know they shouldn’t do but are always trying to get away with, like sneaking outside, getting into a cupboard they shouldn’t, or trying to eat/chew something that isn’t good for kitties. Other things I always ask about are medications and medical conditions. It’s important to have a contact number for a cat’s vet and to know where their cat carrier and/or go-bag is in case of emergency.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! Holidays are when I am usually busiest with pet-sitting jobs. My family is very low-key when it comes to holiday celebrations, so it has always been my role to pet-sit so others can enjoy their more involved holiday celebrations and vacations.

Monday took care of my cat Sally while I was away. Sally is a very shy and skittish rescue cat, and I was very impressed that in the short time that Monday was caring for her, Sally felt comfortable enough to come out of hiding and get treats and pets from Monday. Monday is a very patient, kind, and gentle cat sitter. Sally doesn’t really like anyone but me, but she adores Monday and even wants belly rubs from them. Monday is also super reliable and communicative. Highly recommend, 10/10!!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
