I'm Jo
Cat Sitting in Denver, CO
I’m a 30-something hybrid worker with a big love for cats. I’m available for both short-term and long-term sits, working from an office in Lone Tree on Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs and remotely on Fri. That flexibility allows me to give extra time and attention to kitties who feel most comfortable staying in their own homes while their parents are away.
I’m new to this platform, but not new to the work! I’ve been caring for pets and homes for over 25 years. I’m happy to share references and reviews from families I’ve worked with before. If you’re looking for common sense, patience, responsibility, attention to detail, and a reliable companion for your pet family, I’d love to connect and care for your four-legged loved ones... I care for cats as if they were my own, following your routines for feeding, playtime, and bedtime so they stay comfortable and happy while you’re away. I’m also experienced in reinforcing training, supporting pets with physical limitations, and administering medications with care and accuracy. My goal is to make sure your cat feels secure and loved, while you enjoy complete peace of mind.
Every kitty is unique, and I take the time to understand their personality, needs, and preferences. I’ll ask questions, listen closely, and adapt to whatever makes them feel at ease; whether that means high-energy adventures or just plenty of cuddles and company. You know your cat best, and I’ll work with you to provide care that feels seamless and familiar. Safety is always my top priority, and I’ll never put your pet in a situation I don’t feel confident about.
Please note that I am not trained to care for highly reactive animals.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for over 25 years! I've cared for single cat homes and multi-count homes. I've learned a lot about what it means to help a cat learn someone new, like a sitter, feel safe in their own environment with a new person, and how to look out for any concerning behaviors. when I first care for any animal, I bring up any inconsistencies or concerns with a pet parent. once they tell me something might be typical or expected, I usually just make note of it to let them know when they return. it's important to me that all animals feel safe and excited when I see them!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
any pet parent, especially one hiring a sitter for the first time, should absolutely leave more information than they think is necessary! you know your cat's quirks better than anyone else. you know what makes them feel safe, you know what they like to do, and you know what they do when they want to play. for first-time parents, I usually tell them to catalog almost every interaction they have with their cat for an entire week. it provides a great outline for general care of their cat. it's amazing how we take care of our own pets and don't realize how much we do!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I've had two wildly different experiences with timid/ anxious cats. for one animal, what worked best was them having their own space. we had t-shirts from their two owners in their bed, I set food in the room for them, and I monitored how much water they were drinking. I kept an eye on the litter box to ensure they were still creating waste as well. it worked best for me to be as unobtrusive as possible. there is no problems and the parents came home to happy, healthy animals! in the other situation, the cat just needed a good amount of time to warm up. it was important for me to be a little hands off at the beginning, but to leave my own clothes for them to explore my scent in their own time. I truly depend on cat parents to help inform me of what works best!

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
