While I want nothing more than to ensure your little lovelies stay happy and healthy, I come alert and prepared for any surprises that arise in your absence.
At every visit, I do a full "paws and claws" hea... Greetings fellow feline fanatics! I know it's hard to travel when you have furry family members. I want you to take that vacation, business trip, or go do that thing at the place you keep talking about - guilt and worry free!
While I want nothing more than to ensure your little lovelies stay happy and healthy, I come alert and prepared for any surprises that arise in your absence.
At every visit, I do a full "paws and claws" headcount, check for mischief, and yes, clean up any hairballs and other little accidents. I'm comfortable giving medication by pill or syringe. Thanks to my time in the US Navy and as a City Planner, I maintain a calm, steady enegy even in high-stress and emergency scenarios.
At home, my wife and I care for farm animals and three long hair cats that taught me to respect routines, boundaries, and big personalities in little bodies.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
When I was a kid I thought that all cats had the same personality. I now know I just didn't know their language. I find it fascinating how well we can make ourselves understood to each other. It might sound odd, but my favorite thing about sitting is the feeling you get when you've earned a cats trust - because they are so discerning.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
The Safety Check starts the moment I arrive. I conduct a headcount, confirm doors and windows are secure, and scan for anything knocked over or gotten into. I follow your feeding, medication, and cleaning instructions exactly - because I know consistency keeps cats safe and calm. As I check water bowls and litter boxes I consider if they are going more or less than usual and if I can detect any odd smells, color, etc. With a background in the US Navy and City Planning, I am detail-oriented and calm in unexpected situations. You'll receive timely updates so you can be assured you're home and pets are secure.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid cats set the pace - I never force an interaction and always respect their personal space. I enter their presence with a gentle demeanor, moving slow and predictably, speaking softly and clearly, I'll sit in an open space and invite them to smell and engage with me. I pay close attention to body language- ears, tail, posture, so I don't push past their boundaries. Treats and toys can be a help or hindrance, I follow your instructions.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
