What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting since November 2025 and have earned a perfect review score by providing attentive, dependable care. I take time to understand each cat’s routine and personality so they feel safe and comfortable. I am very comfortable with shy cats and also comfortable with administering medicine.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy building trust with each cat the most. Every cat has their own personality, and I love taking the time to understand what makes them feel comfortable—whether it's playtime, quiet company, or gentle pets. Seeing shy cats warm up to me is always a special highlight. I also enjoy giving cat parents peace of mind knowing that someone responsible is caring for their furry family member and I take pride in sending detailed updates, photos, and videos so they always feel connected.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have an adult female cat whom I adopted when she was just a kitten. We have been together since 2017, and her name is Schnooks. I like to call her my partner in crime. LOL.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I like to start with an in-person meet and greet to learn about their cat’s personality, routine, preferences, and any medical or behavioral needs. I also like to make sure I understand feeding instructions, litter box care, favorite toys, hiding spots, and any household details that will help visits go smoothly. During visits, I focus on keeping the cat comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I adjust my approach based on the cat’s temperament — whether they’re social, shy, playful, or independent. I also provide detailed updates with photos during each visit so pet parents know how their cat is doing and can feel relaxed while they’re away. My goal is to build trust with both the cat and the owner and create a calm, stress-free experience for everyone.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
To ensure the safety and security of the cats and home while cat sitting, I first make sure the home is secured with locked doors when I arrive and leave. I follow all instructions and communicate anything I see that looks out of place with the client. I respect the home only going into agreed upon areas, cleaning up after myself, bringing in mail/packages and following all house rules. With the cats, I'm careful in respecting their boundaries, not forcing interaction on them and letting them come to me.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I'm often available during holidays and I keep my calendar updated. I recommend booking early, as holiday spots can fill quickly.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love using taser wands or ribbon toys because almost every cat—shy, energetic, or senior can enjoy them at their own pace. It’s a fun way to match a cat’s personality with the kind of play they like.”
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For cats that are timid or anxious, my best way to handle them is to give them time and space. I have a cat that can be timid at times and I find that to work best. I will however try to get their attention by talking to them in a soft tone, or extending my hand out and letting them come to me. Also giving a treat or two does the trick as well. When they do feel comfortable, then I will gently pet them.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- February 13-19: Presidents Day

- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Washington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
