Cat Sitting in Marietta, GA

Hi, I'm Bunny! I am a petsitter and lover of cats. I've been sitting since 2021 and have had cats since 2004. The had to administer pills (with a pill popper) for my cat that has asthma and we're training with an inhaler. I've had to give sub fluids to an older cat we had and had to give a special diet to our one cat that would have tummy issues if she didn't get a whitefish only food.

I've done a lot of drop ins on cats with many long time regular clients. I've had clients that were outside only cats, cats with one eye and cats missing a leg. I've had to give measured liquid medication in food and fetch a scared cat to make sure he ate it. I even have done full house sittings where I need to stand and monitor the feeding to make sure one cat doesn't eat the others food, and make sure it doesn't beat up it's sibling...

I even have done full house sittings where I need to stand and monitor the feeding to make sure one cat doesn't eat the others food, and make sure it doesn't beat up it's sibling.

Usually when I do my drop ins I'll arrive and announce myself, talking the whole time I'm there so the cats get used to my voice and know where I am in the house to avoid unwanted surprises. I'll start with food or litter- whichever the cats want first (if they're friendly and greeting me, I'll usually start with food. If they're hiding, I'll usually start with litter). After I've taken care of that and any other requirements I'll usually go for on the couch or floor- somewhere low where they have access to me. I will be on my phone but watching and talking to them, no sudden movements, so they can choose to come over for pets if they want. Usually by day 2 I'll try playing with a toy they like, to see if I can't get them to play and see me as not a threat.
While I never force a cat to come to me, I will go on a scavenger hunt to find them if they never come out, just to make sure that they are alive and not trapped. I won't remove them from their hiding spot, just take a photo of them and then leave them be.

Learn More About Amanda

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been doing cat sitting since 2021. I started when I started dog sitting. Since I've had a lot of experience with my own cats so I had good experience for sitting others. I now have a list of regular clients that book me when they go out of town.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I'll come over and ask what a normal day looks like for their cats. I'll ask about feeding and litter schedule, and hiding spots and favorite toys. I'll ask about things to look out for like if they'll try to bolt out the door, and if there are regular occurrences that I shouldn't worry about (like one cat has a daily hairball, one cat has liquid poops when anxious, etc). I'll also make sure that I have up to date vet and emergency information.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I leave them alone! I talk softly the whole time I'm there so they know where I am without needing to see me. I move slowly and I'll sit still so they can come to me at their own pace without the fear that I'll chase or grab them.

Bunny is empathetic and caring! My cat Bradley warmed up to her fast, and Bunny made sure to send me a picture update of him everyday, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. I appreciated her timely nature and reliability— she was always there right when she said she would be. She took time to play with Bradley and give him some love as well as feed him and clean the litter box. If she needed to move around or use anything else in the house, she always asked me (even though I told her to use whatever she wanted). I felt respected and I felt positive my cat was being well taken care of. I can’t recommend her enough! We love Bunny.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Marietta cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
