I am Aneisa and I really love cats. Ever since I was little, I always wanted a cat. Fast forward to 2020 I found our new furry family member named Winona who is a black American Shorthair.
Before I met Winona, I had the pleasure of cat sitting for a year which was awesome! I really love getting to know new cats as I am always surprised by each one. They all have a distinct personality which as times can be interesting to navigate... Hello!

Before I met Winona, I had the pleasure of cat sitting for a year which was awesome! I really love getting to know new cats as I am always surprised by each one. They all have a distinct personality which as times can be interesting to navigate.
What I love most about animals, but cats specifically is that they are themselves 100% of the time. Which means, I am never going to be confused about how to behave around them. I find them to be wonderful in their simplicity of just being and am reminded that I should live by that philosophy myself.
It brightens my day to interact with animals and feeds my soul as well.
Outside of being a cat sitter, I am a professional actress and I enjoy being able to travel for work at times!
I have been a professional actress since 2015 and I am grateful that I get to work.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I was a cat sitter for a year from 2019-2020. I really enjoyed my time as a cat sitter.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I really enjoy getting to meet new cats. If I had it my way, I would have more than just one, but since I know that I can't do that- I am happy to get to know new cat parents and their furry family members
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I cat sat for an orange tabby and she was delightful. She was a major people cat and whenever I walked in she was very vocal and affectionate. She wouldn't stop until I sat down so that she could sit on my lap and make biscuits on my leg! I always enjoyed getting to see her!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one cat named Winona. She is a American Shorthair. We got her on December 19th 2020. She has added so much to our home and I honestly don't like to think about life before her.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
If you can, try to be as clear about instructions and details as possible that way your furry friend will receive the best care and you will be at ease knowing that they are well taken care of.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to set up a meet and greet. It can be virtual or in person. This way I can get a sense of the cat parent and get the directions/instructions verbally first. Then I like to ask any and all questions and request that the directions/ instructions be written down for me that way both me and the cat parent are clear on the expectations set for the duration of the sitter reservation.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I like to keep the home neat so that there isn't any excess clutter for the cat to get into or hide in. I also like to make sure that the food area and litter area are clean. I always think this way- if someone gave me food in a dirty bowl would I want to eat it? Would I want to go to the bathroom in an unclean place? If I know I wouldn't then I don't want a cat to have to deal with that either.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am available for most holidays. If plans do arise it would normally be around Christmas but I will update my calendar either way to alert cat parents if I am available or not.
What is your favorite cat toy?
While each cat has their own preference- I have found that toys that mimic flying are a particular favorite so I would say that is my favorite toy
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Space is going to be our friend in this situation. They probably feel nervous because I am a new person so in this case, I like to provide space and allow them to approach me. If I can, I try to coax them out with treats, but I don't try to make them eat from my hand as I know that can feel intrusive. Once they have given me the sniff of approval I will pet them however, I will still allow them to set the pace.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Aneisa was amazing! My cat, Archie, is very difficult because she was adopted from a shelter and sadly abused so she is not very trusting. But Aneisa was able to check on her, keep her feed and hydrated, and play with Archie when Archie would let her. She sent great videos and updates and cured my anxiety about leaving Archie alone.

Both of our cats are shy but neither ran away from her, Stevie even let her pet her and Shadow, who normally hides, just stayed in place when she was over. Aneisa made them both feel comfortable and knew their boundaries.
