I currently live in Andersonville with my girlfriend and our two kitties (Nutmeg and Clove) and previously lived in Rogers Park for many years. I mainly watch cats in and around these neighborhoods but am happy to discuss your specific location. 😊

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting all over Chicago’s north side since 2022! I have built so many incredible connections and formed wonderful, trusting relationships with so many wonderful clients along the way.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
When I started cat sitting, I was excited to meet as many new cats and cat parents as possible. While I still love meeting new clients, figuring out new kitties’ personalities, and venturing to different neighborhoods, my favorite part of cat sitting—hands down—is my relationship with my repeat clients. Their trust means the world to me! Even though I’m visiting cats in their own homes, I always feel a sense of coming “home” when I’m reunited with and greeted by a cat I’ve watched before. The feeling gets better each time with each repeat visit. 💛
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats—Nutmeg (7-year-old tabico adopted in February 2020) and Clove (5-year-old tortie adopted in November 2024)! Shoutout to Felines & Canines for the sweetest girls.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It’s ok to be nervous! A Meowtel reservation means not only inviting a new person to care for your pet, but also inviting that person into your home. We know this requires a certain level of uncertainty and a huge level of trust. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and be specific with your instructions. We are here to make sure you and your kitties are safe, happy, and comfortable. 😊
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
My goal is always to go beyond just the basic tasks that are asked of me and make intentional efforts to make sure the cats I watch are safe and healthy! Visits aren’t just about giving food and scooping litter boxes — they’re about truly making sure the cats are thriving while their parents are away. Are they eating all their food? Does their litter box seem normal? Is their behavior off? If anything feels off, I always err on the side of providing parents with too much information. They nearly always assure me the behavior is normal and are always incredibly thankful for the close eye.
Are you usually available during holidays?
This varies, but I do my best to accommodate holidays when I can! My family is in Illinois, so while spending time with them is my first priority, I try to make my cat clients a close second.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It’s so important to meet the cats where they are, go at their pace, and remember that all cats are different. While it can feel disheartening not to have a cat love you the second you walk in the door, it’s important to remember to put them first! A little patience goes a long way in making these kitties feel safe. I’ve watched several anxious cats over the years, and it is truly a joy to see them open up.

Leaving our 19 year old for any extended period of time is difficult but Leandra makes it easier knowing she takes such great care of all our ladies when we’re gone. She made time to meet my cats and understand the care that they required through an at-home visit. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
