Cat Sitting in Chicago, IL

Hello fellow cat lovers!

I’m Dana, a teacher living in Avondale, and I’ve been a devoted cat owner and enthusiast for as long as I can remember. My current feline supervisor is a handsome black cat named Thackeray Binx ((hocus pocus anyone🔮🐈‍⬛)), who keeps me well-trained in the art of serving cats on their terms.

As a teacher, I’m responsible, organized, patient, and attentive to details—qualities that also happen to make a great cat sitter! Whether your cat is a social butterfly, a professional napper, or a mysterious under-the-bed observer, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve...

Whether your cat is a social butterfly, a professional napper, or a mysterious under-the-bed observer, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve.

🐱 What You Can Expect:

* Feeding and fresh water
* Litter box cleaning
* Playtime and enrichment
* Medication administration- oral pill or liquid in a syringe (if needed and instructed)
* Plenty of photos and updates
* Respect for your cat’s unique personality and routine

🏠 My First-Visit Promise
Before my first official sitting appointment, I like to schedule a meet-and-greet visit. This gives me a chance to:

* Meet your furry friend
* Learn their routines, preferences, and quirks
* Review feeding, medication, and emergency information
* Make sure everyone (especially your cat!) feels comfortable

I know every cat is different, and I take pride in learning what makes each one happy, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.

If you’re looking for a dependable cat lover who understands that cats aren’t just pets—they’re family—I’d love to help!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting new cats of all shapes, sizes and personalities! Giving an owner piece of mind while away feels great. As a cat owner I know it can be a lot while away and we can miss them so much. Expect a lot of photos and videos if they are asked for and wanted! It’s the only thing that keeps me going while away

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I have friends who have a blind cat. She is the sweetest most precious little baby cat and her purrs and meows can be heard all around the house. I love to cat sit little Orpha

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I think the initial meet and greet before you head out is super important! I get to take notes to ensure I have the best understanding of you and your cats needs and wants. Getting a layout of their home, how to safely enter and exit, and just having a good idea of their behaviors helps put everyone a little more at ease for the reserved sitting time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
