I love cats, and adore meeting and getting to know new kitties. Each one is so unique, and I love getting to know each personality, when I cat sit.
I have had 4 amazing cats. Bagheera was a wise old soul, even when he was a kitten, and LOVED people. He greeted visitors at our house when they came in the door, and would see them out when they left. Papageno teeter tottered between being super pesky😍 and incredibly cuddly. Major Kira was a heart stealer. She loved everyone including other cats. Worf was a floppy cuddly baby, who was a terrific mischief maker.
Baggy was on allergy meds, and Papa was on seizure meds, so I understand kitties with medical needs.
Outside of loving kitties, I am a music teacher, and amateur conservationist... I took a break while moving over the last year, but now I’m back, and so excited to meet new kitties where I live!!

Outside of loving kitties, I am a music teacher, and amateur conservationist. I do a lot of learning and working outdoors towards conservation efforts.
When I cat sit, I will make sure I am extremely clear on instructions, since cats can be sensitive. Any time I am cat sitting, my goal is always to help the cats feel comfortable, and know that they are well taken care of while their people are away. Perhaps sitting with them or playtime or lots of pets! I try to socialize with cats on their terms. But however I can help them know they’re loved is what I try to do. I make a point to be respectful of every cat I meet, and treat them and of course their parents with respect. I of course make sure to do all tasks like feeding and scooping litter with great care.
I am also happy to do things like pick up mail or water plants if you need, in addition to taking care of the kitty/ies!
I am in Bridgeport, and service this area and nearby locations.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, I teach music lessons morning through evening. I visit cats before and after teaching on those days (something like 7am and 10pm on Wednesdays, and 7am and 7pm Thursdays). Please note this schedule restriction.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to know the cat, and if our sitting becomes regular, I LOVE getting to see and hang out with them. There’s something special about being a regular part of a kitty’s life.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I’d have to say Miss Daisy. She was a tricky one. She wanted all the attention, but would get overstimulated. And even when I got to know her mannerisms, she would unpredictably attack. After several sits (and one doctor visit for a bite), I suggested some more toys for Miss Daisy. The parents agreed immediately, and I went out and picked some things out for her. When I got the toys out with her, she went absolutely bananas for them. She would spend the majority of our 45 minute visits, jumping and running and pouncing. I love this memory, because we found a new way to interact, that was safe and healthy for everyone! And I felt like I was really helping Miss Daisy.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I generally give them space. I’ll talk to them from a distance. I’ve sat with cats who hid behind or under the bed, and wouldn’t come out for food or treats. With those babies, i know they were nervous for me to be there, but I also didn’t want them to be too lonely. I have a “music for cats” YouTube video I like to play, and often I’ll sit near the bed and play the video. Sometimes a cat would come out, sometimes not. But hopefully they understood that they weren’t alone.

Ash was phenomenal! One of my kitties started having a flare up of kidney issues when I was already out of town. Administering meds was more than my friend who was watching them could handle. My cat was having a difficulty with her eye right before I left town for a week. Ash was great about giving her the medicines she needed, taking her to the vet, and telling me when my cat needed extra care because she was not eating. I really don't know if my cat would have made it without Ash, and certainly I would not have been as at-ease knowing she was in good hands.

Ash was HANDS DOWN the best petsitter we have ever had. They would send incredibly detailed updates of their visits, as well as photos and videos. Including how our cat was feeling that visit, what they did when they were at our home in detail, the toys that were played with. They were so respectful of our home. The intricately detailed updates helped give me the peace of mind they were doing everything just the way we asked. They even told us if there were certain days they would be stopping by later than others, due to previous professional commitments they had made. There were some unexpected things that happened while they were at our house, such as our 3 year old plastic litter scoop deciding to give out on them during one of their visits (of course not their fault). In that visit's summary, they told me it happened, apologized for that happening, and even offered to purchase us a new one at no cost to us. It really assured us just how professional Ash handles certain situations, even when they are our of their control. When they played with our boy Trypsin, they would run around the house playing with him, hiding behind the couch and making playful noises. They really know how to engage with cats, and play with them. We even had specific play instructions, requesting they didn't use their hands as toys, because we don't want to be teaching our boy to bite hands, and I have complete trust that they stuck to using just toys as toys. They even brought a box from their own home for him and checked with me it was okay to include in playtime! It really reassured me we picked the right person for the job because they asked even before doing or introducing the most benign seeming things. When we had our meet and greet, they took very detailed notes to assure Trypsin's lifestyle and schedule were as similar to the one he's used to as possible. I really appreciated them going the extra mile to do that. Everything from Brita vs tap water in his water bowl, to where they should scoop the litter boxes. It's those little details that only a true professional would consider. They offered to water plants or take care of any other pets we had while they were at our home, but we didn't need anything of the like. We did ask them to roll our trash and recycling bins out to the street on trash day, and back to their original spot once the trash and recycling was picked up, and they happily did so. Trypsin loved Ash's company, and I'm sure he will be very happy to see them again the next time we are in need of a catsitter.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Ash was fantastic! They quickly responded to my first inquiry, was super flexible in meeting, and then just awesome in person. They took detailed notes when we talked through Harvey’s needs and schedule, and also offered to keep an eye on my plants. While we were out of town, Ash sent daily updates, pictures and videos of their visit, and was even kind enough to clean up a glass snow globe Harvey broke. I will absolutely have Ash back anytime we need someone to live on Harvey as much as we do!
