My love of cats goes back to my childhood. I grew up with a kitty named Lightning, named such because as a kitten he was as fast as lightning. He lived to be 18 years old. I have had over 50 parent clients here on Meowtel, and I find I work especially well with shy or nervous cats. I am good at getting under furniture to get you an adorable photo or two. I can't wait to make your kitty part of my family while you are traveling.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I had a cat growing up and have cat sat via Meowtel for several years. I have sat over 50 times with many of those being repeat customers.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to meet new cats and getting time to play with them. In additional cat cuddles are always an welcome addition.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Communication is always key to have a wonderful cat visit.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am available during most holidays and I keep my calendar up to date

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With timid cats I make sure to allow time so they can come to me. Often if you sit quietly for a period of time even the most timid cat will pop its head up to check you out, if the reservation is for multiple days by the end even the most timid cats start to come out to say Hi. The key is not to make the cat feel like they are being crowded or that they no longer can hide in their safe spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
