Cat-sitting lets me share that affection and lifelong experience. Visits go beyond food, water, and litter — I include playtime, brushing, tidying, companionship, and photo... I’ve shared my life with many cats — most intentionally, but a couple were thanks to the mysterious Cat Distribution System (one was rescued from I-294 traffic!) I’ve cared for kittens, seniors, and everything in between.
Cat-sitting lets me share that affection and lifelong experience. Visits go beyond food, water, and litter — I include playtime, brushing, tidying, companionship, and photo updates so you know your cat is happy and cared for. Every cat’s quirks and routines are honored, and yes, a little screen time is allowed — my videos cats love playlist is always a big hit!
I’m comfortable with cats of all ages, with a soft spot for seniors. My goal is simple: to treat your cat with the same love and attentiveness I gave my own, giving you peace of mind while you’re away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been a trusted cat and house sitter for a friend with two cats over the past 10 years. Now that I no longer have senior pets of my own requiring most of my time and attention, I’m excited to branch out and offer cat-sitting services to others on a regular and professional basis.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. Quite often holiday plans are made or change last minute. I do my best to accept short notice reservations so don’t hesitate to ask
What is your favorite cat toy?
It’s a little old school and simple but Cat Dancer. I’ve never met a cat who can resist this piece of springy wire with cardboard attached. Only caveat is it requires supervision and needs to be tucked away after use for safety.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Since many cats respond to the energy around them being calm is important. I’ve found playing a little cat-friendly music (it’s a thing!) or a video of bird sounds will often lure a cat out. Bribery by way of favorite treats or gentle brushing if they like that are also time-honored techniques.

Even with the challenge of a kitten and sour patch cat duo, she embraced them with open arms and made sure they were comfortable and safe. She even left them souvenirs to remember her by. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chicago cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
