Hi, I’m Carly (33 years old) and I have been a proud cat owner for 5 years to a wonderful Siamese mix named Fiona Apple. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement!

I live in Minneapolis MN, by Lake of the Isles and I do not have a working vehicle at the moment so anywhere I could walk/bus too would be great. I have a degree in Psychology and work in the mental health field.

I love helping people but I honestly have such a soft spot for animals. I also have grown up with cats most of my life and have cat sit for nanny families I have worked for as well. I absolutely adore cats and believe they should be worshipped and given a great quality of life. I have administered ear drops and ointments to my own cat and another cat that I have watched. I love cuddling and playing with cats for as long as they want and scooping litter etc is no issue for me. I also have cleaned clients houses before if a cat is sleeping and I have fulfilled all cat duties.

I am a genuine, reliable, and compassionate person and being around cats brings these traits out in me very easily. I promise to care for your baby or babies like I care for my own!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy getting to know each individual cat and their unique personalities. It’s an honor when I can tell that a cat is showing that they trust me and that I am not a threat to them. It has been a great feeling to be able to have a shy cat warm up to me and see their tail go up with confidence.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Honestly, it is hard to choose! The most gratifying one was where the cat was very timid and the owner expected her to hide the whole time but I got her to warm up to me and we were cuddling on day 2 💕

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would sat that in general, try to make sure that the sitter has a genuine love for cats and animals. People think taking care of cats is easier than other animals but that isn’t necessarily true. They have needs and an active imagination that should be tended too just like any other animal.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure that the doors are locked and that they have enough food/water and their litter box is clean.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available!

What is your favorite cat toy?

The cat wand is my favorite because you can get more creative with play time and pretend it’s a snake etc. My Fiona loves this and can hunt for hours if it was her choice😂

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience and time. My cat is very anxious to noises and new people. Getting on their level and letting them sniff your hands is the first step in establishing rapport.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
