My name is Kellen, and I am an experienced cat sitter and cat parent myself. I’ve been connecting with animals - specifically kitties - since I was a child. I know from finding cat sitters myself that finding a trusted, competent, and communicative pet sitter can really set the mind at ease.
I approach each sit with the understanding that every family and cat is unique. Needs and expectations vary, but I feel competent in my ability to care for any kitty.
I have experience pilling and administering medication for my own cat, as well as administering insulin shots from other cat-sits . I’ve also learned a great deal about training out certain behaviors - scratching furniture, eating plants, getting on counters - from my cat Rue as well :)
Overall, I just love to connect with people in my community and their pets, and providing personalized and thorough care.

I have one 2 year old dilute calico named Rue! She is a big personality - always hanging out nearby, playing constantly, and curious about anything and everything. She’s such a light in my life!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Questions and more questions! I like to take notes and walk through what a typical visit looks like. I also like to ask about kitties quirks - anything that might be surprising or unique to them I should be aware of. I also prefer to meet over the phone or in person beforehand if possible, to see how the animal reacts to me and their owner, and get a walkthrough of the space and where everything is located (food, toys, meds, grooming supplies, napping spots, etc) I like to be thorough up front, and communicate throughout!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Cat sitting is not just about taking care of an animal but also the home and space. Security is one of my top priorities - I always want to check with owners about their animals tendency to escape or hide and make sure I’m careful when opening and closing doors outside or to stairwells and basements. Oppositely, if a cat is timid and hides, I still like to lay eyes on them every visit to make sure they’re doing okay. When it comes to the home, I am diligent about locking windows and doors, and also tend to turn on and off different lights so the home looks lived in and occupied.

She was prompt about updates when she got to my apartment, and my cats were so happy to have someone hang out with them for a bit and play with them and give them attention. I also really appreciated the AM and PM availability and her willingness to do a meet and greet prior to the booking. Would definitely book with her again!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Minneapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
