Being a cat sitter helps me get my cat fix! I'm very patient with all new cats. It takes time for them to trust someone new but by the end of my visits, I know we'll be great friends! I would love to meet you and take care of your cats.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I grew up with cats and have been sitting with Meowtel for three years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love working with shy kitties to get them to like me, let me pet them, play with them, and have them sit on my lap!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite experience was with two shy cats, per the owner, and probably wouldn't even come out of hiding while I was taking care of them. By day two I was able to coax them out of hiding and one even sat on my lap.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I can't have any more pets as my husband is allergic.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Read the reviews. Ask as many questions as you need during the meet and greet.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
We will always have a meet and greet first. If the parent allows it, I will interact with the cat while they are watching so they can see if their cat likes me.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always read any and all notes from the parent. I always close the house doors once I'm inside so the kitties can't get out. I send at least two to three pictures of each to the parent at each visit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Not always but if I am it's on my calendar.
What is your favorite cat toy?
String or a box. That's all they really need.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
A lot of patience. I typically will talk to the cats while I'm in the house even if they aren't out. That way they get used to my voice. When they come out I will sit down so I'm at their level and hold out my hand so they can sniff me. I wait until they come to me. They are in charge!

Ms. Deb is the best! I recently moved to MN from NC and flew home for Christmas. I was a little nervous about leaving little Zola behind for the first time for an extensive amount of time. However, Ms. Deb provided consistent updates and pictures with each visit! She even squeezed in an extra visit to check on Zola one more time due to my flight being late. I am super thankful for Ms. Deb! You should definitely book with her! You will NOT be disappointed!

Deb was purrfect! My kitties liked her, she took very good care of them, kept their feeding areas and litter box clean. She sent lots of pictures so I knew they were happy. This was her first time sitting for a sphynx, they get weepy eyes and she was nice enough to was their faces when they allowed her to! Very happy with her!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Minneapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
