Booking Modifications

Customers can modify a confirmed reservation at any time, and all modification requests will be routed to the sitter for approval, if they remove future visits and the modification request is approved, they will be issued a 100% credit which they can request to have refunded to their original payment method from their Transactions screen.


All timing will be based on the sitter's time zone and the start date is defined as 12:00am on the first day listed on the reservation.


Note: If sitter earnings were used as a form of payment for a reservation, those earnings will be refunded to your customer account as a credit to use towards future reservations or tips. Refunded earnings cannot be transferred back to your sitter balance, nor withdrawn as a sitter payout.

The client will receive a full credit back to their Meowtel account, which they can use to rebook with a different sitter, or they can also request to have it refunded back to their original payment method from their Transactions screen.


Note: You will not receive any earnings for a reservation that you cancel.

When a cat parent cancels a confirmed reservation up to the day before the start date, you’ll receive an email and push notification informing you of the reason for the cancellation and you will have the option to override the Cancellation Policy for the cat parent. 


To override our Cancellation Policy, go to your Sitter Mode > Reservations > Past > Details > Issue a Refund


There, you will see the available refund options you can choose from, as well as what your updated earnings would be after the refund has been issued.


Please note that your sitter account must have a sufficient balance to cover the refund amount you’re selecting; this means that if you withdraw those earnings before issuing the refund, and your account doesn’t have enough funds, the refund option will not be available in the reservation card.
