I'm also comfortable wi... Hello! I’m Josephine and I have been passionate about cats and their care since I began cat sitting in 2018. I'm dedicated to making sure every cat feels pampered, safe and loved while their person is away. At home I share my life with my two kitties, Shun and Momo.
Beyond personal experience I've spent 2 years as a cat socialization volunteer at the SF SPCA. This is where I developed hands-on skills working with cats of different personalities and all ages. I'm also comfortable with a range of cat care needs, including following special diet instructions.
During visits, I tailor my approach depending on the cat. I start my visit by sitting quietly and letting them come to me on their own terms, whether that leads to a fun play session or a calm peaceful company.
I bring a warm and calm presence to every visit and I believe in respecting each cat’s personality. I love all cats! And every single one deserves to feel safe and cozy while their person is away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began cat-sitting back in 2018, and the love has grown ever since! I’ve spent the last 2 years as a trained cat socialization volunteer at the SF SPCA, which really taught my how to handle cats of all temperaments and ages. Through my shelter work, I'm also comfortable with a range of cat care needs, including following special diet instructions, and caring for senior cats. It’s something I genuinely love doing! :)
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes I have two kitties, Shun, a very playful boy, and his sister Momo, a lovely and sweet girl.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to do a quick meet-and-greet first so I can hear all about the cat from the parent, their personality, habits, what they like, and how they are around new people. And I always send photos and updates during visits so the parent can just enjoy their time away!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I am usually available for drop-ins during holidays.

It’s hard to leave your pets behind and worrying for their safety… but Josephine is extremely kind and loving towards the animals & she sends a lot of photos, videos etc she’s super informative & helpful. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Francisco cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $38.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

Josephine is truly an amazing cat sitter. Her love for cats is so genuine, and it shows in the way she cares for them. My cat, Molly, is always happy to see her whenever she comes to catsit, which says everything to me. She is thoughtful, detailed, attentive, and incredibly caring. I always feel at ease knowing Molly is with someone who will look after her so well and treat her with so much love. I couldn’t recommend Josephine more highly. Josephine has helped me watch my 2 cats before when I've traveled and I highly recommend her services! I miss my cats a lot during my trips and Josephine's diligent communication and photos of my cats helped put me at ease and enjoy my vacation more. My cats were happy, well fed, and litter cleaned when I came back. I can tell she has great attention to detail and genuinely cares about cats, I would definitely use her services again.
