What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been caring for cats my entire life, growing up in a home where cats were always part of the family. Over the years, I’ve become the go-to cat sitter for many friends and relatives who trust me to look after their pets while they’re away. This long-term experience has taught me how to read different personalities, keep routines consistent, and provide calm, dependable care.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

A year ago my family rescued my cat Paloma as a stray who needed some extra help, and they instantly thought of me as the gal for the job. She couldn’t walk or eat and was incredibly shy so I cared for her through her recovery. Now she’s healthy, fluffy, and proudly trotting around the house. Watching her blossom has been one of my favorite reminders of how a little patience and steady care can make such a big difference. She’s also a big reason I was inspired to join Meowtel!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I take a very gentle, patient approach with timid or anxious cats. I always start by giving them space, moving slowly, and letting them decide when they’re ready to interact. I keep my voice calm, avoid sudden movements, and stick to quiet, predictable routines. I sit at their level, offer treats or toys without pressure, and take cues from their body language. If they prefer company from a distance, I respect that and make sure they still feel safe by keeping their environment consistent and stress-free. Over time, most cats warm up once they realize I’m a calm, steady presence.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
