I’ve also got a cat named Ravioli, who’s pretty much my child. We go on regular walks together, and I’ve even trained him to do some cool tricks like standing up and giving high fives. It’s a lot of fun, and it shows just how much I love spending time with cats.
People like to call me the “cat whisperer” because even the shyest, most anti-social cats seem to like me... Hi there! I’m Sarai, and I’d love to be your go-to cat sitter. I’ve been fostering cats of all ages and personalities for the past two years, so I’ve got plenty of experience making sure they’re happy and comfortable.
I’ve also got a cat named Ravioli, who’s pretty much my child. We go on regular walks together, and I’ve even trained him to do some cool tricks like standing up and giving high fives. It’s a lot of fun, and it shows just how much I love spending time with cats.
People like to call me the “cat whisperer” because even the shyest, most anti-social cats seem to like me. It always surprises their owners, but I think it’s because I genuinely love and understand cats, making them feel at ease around me.
I recently obtained my engineering PhD and I thought it would be fun to pet sit as I search for a permanent position in the area. The hope is that I can continue pet sitting even with my future job position. Either that or I'll continue to foster cause I love to be surrounded by cats!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I grew up with cats and I started fostering cats two years ago. So, I've been doing in home "cat sitting" for awhile. I also have my own cat and I often look after and feed my roommate's cat. I also cat sat frequently for three cats for some friends a few years ago.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have one orange boy that's two years old named Ravioli 😺 I also live with my roommate's cat. He's a young one year old black cat named Celebi ❤️
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I find that it is really easy to overcrowd a cat. I sit at a distance from the cat and let them approach me to establish a feeling of safety. In general, I try to follow advice given by Jackson Galaxy. His trainings on handling cats are even used by the Atlanta Humane Society's training program so I know his advice is reputable.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
It's important for me to first know what habits the cats possess. For example, do they like to climb on the counters or attempt to eat plants, both of which could be dangerous for the cat. This will allow me to be especially attentive to those habits. Additionally, I know it's important to be hyper aware of how I open doors to ensure the cat doesn't escape. I take this especially seriously since I lost my childhood cat due to a family member leaving the door open. Staying aware of open doors extends to places in the house which the cats may not be allowed to enter. In this way, I can be sure that all items and the home itself remains secure.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I'm available during most holidays at the moment so don't be afraid to ask if it's not clearly on my calendar ☺️
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have actually taken on a few extremely timid or anxious cats during my time fostering. I find that sitting still and ignoring them makes them feel comfortable. Once they're okay with approaching me, I'll bring out some low pressure treats and let them sniff my hand. Eventually, they start rubbing their head on me and that's when I know I've been accepted 😁

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Atlanta cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

Sarai is an amazing individual and my little man aka Archie enjoyed her energy and care. She provided amazing updates with videos and photos and I could clearly see Archie was being taken care and was truly enjoying himself.
