What I enjoy most about cat-sitting is the opportunity to provide love and care to each feline as if they were my own. Having two rescues myself, Mister and Missy, I understand the unique personalities and needs of each cat. It brings me joy to ensure their well-being and comfort while their owners are away, giving them peace of mind. Plus, the daily updates I provide allow me to share the delightful moments I experience with their pets.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
To ensure the safety and security of the cat when pet-sitting, I secure all windows and doors, create a hazard-free environment, and maintain the cat's routine for feeding, play, and litter box care. I closely monitor the cat's health and behavior, keep emergency contacts and vet info handy, and provide daily updates to the owner for peace of mind.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When handling timid or anxious cats, I take a calm and patient approach. I give them plenty of space and time to get used to my presence, avoiding sudden movements or loud noises. I speak to them in gentle, reassuring tones and slowly introduce myself through non-threatening interactions. I always respect their boundaries and make sure they have a safe, quiet environment where they can feel secure.

Reese was amazing from the moment she met MoMo. When we first met she was taking tons of notes and asking questions. She was super accommodating to MoMo’s schedule, especially during the holiday season. One thing I loved, in addition to the pictures and videos, was the full report after each visit (energy level, bathroom report, food completion, etc). Reese goes above and beyond - even grabbing our mail and sending a picture of the door every time she locked it. 10/10 would recommend and book again.

Reese was an amazing catsitter! I was hesitant to experiment with cat sitters, since I have a special needs kitty, and this month was my first time away from them, but Reese's level of attention to detail made me feel reassured that I was leaving my special boy in very capable hands. Right off the bat, at our meet and greet, she pulled out a note pad and was taking detailed notes on everything I was saying about my cats, their behaviors, their preferences, and care instructions. After every care session, Reese would send me an extremely detailed account of what occured during her visit, including what she fed them, what toys she used to play with them, how they were behaving, etc. It reassured me very much to know that my pet sitter had an understanding of how anxious I was for updates, especially about my special needs kitty. She also sent very cute pictures and short videos of playtime with my cats, which were always the highlight of my day while I was away. Amazing experience. I highly recommend Reese for any cat sitting requests!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Reese was absolutely wonderful as a sitter! I have absolutely no complaints, she made the process super easy for me and was able to get (somewhat to my surprise) Maple to come around to her really quickly!
