What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting about a year now! I have had two cats of my own for almost three years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I absolutely love hanging out with different kitties and seeing their personalities! I leave every reservation with at least one funny story about a kitty’s personality, and it makes it so fun! It’s great to connect with other cat parents too and provide them a sense of relief about going on a trip or seeing their loved ones.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have two kitties- Caboose and Kiwi! They both love to cuddle and play, and they especially love basking in the sun and getting fresh air through the windows.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Hire someone who makes you feel comfortable and excited to leave your cats with them! I pride myself in being that person for my clients who never have to worry while they’re away.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
First, I want to get to know your and your cats needs! Are they on a strict eating schedule? Do they require medicine at a specific time? Do you want many pictures each day or just a few with an update? Then, we can set up a visit at your home so we can make sure we are a match!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Mostly! I am local to Columbus, so I am not usually out of town for the holidays. I do have a cap of how many reservations I’ll take, so book ASAP!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My rule with all cats is that I let them come to me on their own time. I never force it. If they want to hide while I’m over, I’ll let them. Of course I’ll try to give them a treat and make sure I see them and that they’re doing okay, but I know it’s a stressful time when cat parents leave, so I try to let them set their own boundaries! 9 times out of 10, they come out on the second visit if I give them space. Many clients have been shocked at how quickly their timid babies will warm up to me and end up being very social!

Maegan was WONDERFUL. I was nervous leaving our cats with a sitter for the first time, but Maegan was worth every penny. OF COURSE one of my cats ended up having stomach issues, but Maegan was on top of it, keeping us updated & she offered to take our sick cat to the vet. Maegan communicated effectively with the vet and kept us informed on how our sick cat was doing. Maegan sent pictures regularly and was consistent with feeding schedules. I am so thankful to have had such a positive first cat sitter experience and will definitely try to book Maegan again when we go on our next vacation.

Maegan is absolutely phenomenal - truly the best cat sitter I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! She was so attentive to my shy girl and they made fast friends, which made me so relaxed during a very long trip. I even had some non-cat related needs come up accidentally and she was kind enough to help with those brief things. Updates were amazing, both for my cat and for things going on around the house that were unusual. So incredibly happy I found her!!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Columbus cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!

Maegan was competent and reliable during our 18 day trip and we will definitely book her for future appointments! She sent us photos, updates or videos from every visit, kept everything clean, and was able to coax our shy kitties to play with her. Her response time to our emails was very prompt. We were nervous about leaving the cats alone for so long but thanks to Maegan, it took away the stress. :)

Amazing cat sitter, became our boys' best friend while we were away. Took such a huge weight off our shoulders to know our little guys were with such a kind and caring sitter. Even our little shy guy warmed up and was able to comfortably hang out instead of his usual hiding under the bed for long stretches. 110% would recommend to anyone in the area, and will be the first person we reach out to next time we travel
