Learn More About Cj

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is the opportunity to bond with each unique feline personality. Every cat has its own quirks, preferences, and ways of showing affection, and I find it incredibly rewarding to build trust and connection with each one.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Ensuring the safety and security of the cats and the home while cat sitting is my top priority. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, and litter box cleaning, and regularly check on the cats to monitor their health and behavior. I secure all doors and windows to prevent escapes and ensure the living space is free of hazards. With training in cat first aid and emergency procedures, including my own cat first aid kit, I’m prepared for any situation. I follow precise instructions for medication and special needs. I respect the homeowner’s privacy by keeping keys and access codes safe, and I adhere to any specific security protocols. Regular updates and photos keep the owners informed and reassured. By combining my experience, training, and attention to detail, I ensure a safe environment for the cats and protect the home while you’re away.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available during holidays. I understand that holidays are a popular time for travel, and it’s important for pet owners to know their cats are well taken care of while they’re away. I make it a priority to be available during these times to provide reliable and consistent care for your feline companions, ensuring they are comfortable and happy even when you can’t be there.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is any wand toy! It's not just a fun way to engage cats; it also encourages exercise and mental stimulation. The interactive nature of wand toys allows me to build a strong bond with cats by engaging them in playful activities that mimic their natural hunting instincts. It's rewarding to see cats pounce, chase, and interact enthusiastically during playtime with a wand toy, making it a favorite for both me and the cats I care for.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When handling timid or anxious cats, I prioritize creating a calm and safe environment. I allow them to approach me at their own pace, avoiding sudden movements and loud noises. I gradually build trust through gentle interactions, starting with sitting nearby and using soothing tones. A consistent routine for feeding and care provides reassurance. Using positive reinforcement encourages confidence and helps them associate me with positive experiences. By being patient and attentive to their needs, I help timid or anxious cats feel more comfortable and gradually build trust.

CJ is an excellent sitter! He showed so much care for our cats and sent us a detailed report every night, including any potential concerns he had. He also went above and beyond in making sure our shy cat was comfortable and had her needs met. Our cats loved playing with him and we really loved seeing the photos and videos of them each day. CJ asked great questions during the meet and greet and was very thorough. You can really tell he has a passion for animals. I highly recommend him and will definitely book him again in the future.

CJ was incredibly through in noting all the requirements for my cats while I was gone! He sent pictures and video every day and let me know if something was amiss with each of my three cats. He's a real trooper in dealing with difficult cats which two of mine are! Thanks so much CJ!!! I'll definitely reserve you again when we go out of town! 😀

CJ was fantastic! I needed a sitter on short notice and he was very accommodating, setting up the meet and greet with little heads-up. I also appreciated that he was thorough, taking notes and asking good questions during the initial meeting. My cats loved him (even the shy one!) and I got detailed updates as well as lots of pictures and videos of my babies :) Highly recommend CJ and would definitely book him again!

CJ followed my instructions, came diligently at the same time each day which was good for my cat's eating schedule, and made friends with my timid cat. I was glad to see that she got scratches, rubs and play time everyday while I was gone.

CJ has been cat sitting for me for almost a month, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. He has been incredibly reliable, communicative, and thoughtful from day one. He made sure every single item on my care list was completed, and if he ever had a question, he reached out immediately. His communication was consistent and reassuring, which made being away so much easier. What really stood out to me was how much he genuinely cared about my cats. When one of them was hiding for several days, CJ was understandably concerned and kept me informed, wanting to make sure everything was okay until my cat warmed up to him. That level of attentiveness and empathy is rare and meant a lot to me. He was also incredibly patient, flexible, and available at a moment’s notice, always willing to go above and beyond. I felt completely confident that my cats were safe, cared for, and loved while I was away. I honestly hesitate to write this review because I don’t want him to get so busy that he’s never available for us again — but he absolutely deserves the highest recommendation. I would trust CJ again without hesitation.

Cj did a great job caring for my cat Naamie. She rarely comes out for anyone but she responded and gained confidence with Cj. He sent vids, and pictures of her daily and spent time with her. Highly recommended!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Dallas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
