Learn More About Violet
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
It makes me so happy to help out cats because they are always so pleased to see me. It’s fun to play with them and give them some attention while owners are away and be a spark of light in their days! I also love how flexible this is so I can easily fit it into my week! It’s always a joy to make a new cat friend anywhere I go! :)
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two precious cats that are my pride and joy! Bubby I have had since college and she is now 14 years old! Sass is 3 years old and quite sweet! They are both so playful.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always lock the doors while I’m doing a visit and I am quite aware of my surroundings.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, depending on if I’m in town I would love to help out close to holiday time!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I have several cat toys but my cats love the stick with the bird and the stick with the mouse on it. They get so excited!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I love to provide as many video and photos as possible to help comfort cat owners while they are away! I always believe more is best, if I was out of town I would also love to receive tons of video of my cats so I like to do that for the owners. :)

Violet did a great job overall. Unfortunately there was apparently an ongoing bug problem while I was away. When I am home I might see one, maybe two at most, due to wet food being left out. I did what I could to help with this issue (I overnighted traps and a pet friendly spray) but she said she wasn’t comfortable using them. Which I understand. I simply don’t know how else I could address the situation from Vietnam. I’ve been home now for over a week and haven’t seen a single bug. My apartment is not dirty and I deep cleaned before I left for the trip. The main issue I had was that she lost my apartment key and did not tell me the day she lost it. I had put a spare under my welcome mat for emergencies. When I received a package I asked my neighbor to use said spare key to put my package inside. That spare key wasn’t there. So I reached out to Violet and thats when she told me that she had lost the key while jogging. I then Zelle’d her $40 to make a spare key and put it under the mat. As far as the roach problem is concerned, I rarely see them (and haven’t seen them since) so I’m confused as to why they were such a problem for her. Another issue I had was that I had given very clear instructions verbally during the meet and greet, via text as well as notes on a white board on the counter. I made sure she knew which cat was Tomato and which was Charlie before she left the meet and greet. I explained their characteristics. Tomato has a visible scar from an old surgery which I said would help tell them apart. That did not seem to help. I was in Vietnam, in an entirely different time zone. So when she had questions that had already been answered multiple times in multiple different ways, I couldn’t respond before she was already gone. Thats the reason why I texted a thorough list of instructions and left instructions on the white board. I even dated the cans and told her via messaging whose bowl was whose. It felt like I was constantly having to answer the same question over and over. She told me it was hot in the apartment so I told her where the switch for it was. Then she texted me the next day asking where the switch was. I can only do so much as far as instructions go. And yes the occasional bug in my ground level apartment isn’t ideal, my apartment is clean and I refuse to allow toxins in my apartment for the safety of my pets. Not to mention when I’m on the other side of the world and cannot supervise its use. I bought and overnighted traps and a pet friendly spray. That was the best I could do. Over all she did great. I never got any videos of play time and there was a significant amount of time in between visits. Yes I booked 45 minutes a day but I had assumed that the sitter would use their best judgment when it comes to making sure there isn’t 24 hours in between. If I’m going to pay $500 for visits I expect to come home to clean litter boxes and a home that doesn’t reek of urine and feces. Which mine did. And has never in the entirety of the time I’ve had Tomato (15 years) and Charlie (2 years). Sonya was my regular cat sitter for years before she moved to California and if you want to ask her, it is clear I’m a good cat mom who keeps her place clean.

The reservation was a breeze. This is my first time using Meowtel and working with Violet. Once I sent the request, I received a very prompt response from Violet (within the hour of submitting the request). Given my lack of experience with the service, I only provided them one day before I was traveling to come meet us. Even with the short notice, Violet made time for us and asked all sort of questions that we have not even thought about regarding our kitties and their needs.

Violet went above and beyond to address any concerns I had while I was away. She was quick to respond, and made sure my cat was eating while I was away, which I really appreciate. She helped give me peace of mind while on my trip and was always willing to coordinate with me to meet my scheduling requests. She's a genuine cat lover and I would definitely reserve again next time I'm away!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Dallas cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
