I have loved cats since I was a little girl but my dad claimed he was "allergic." So I read every book I could find about cats. Sometimes as a girl, I would walk around meowing and pretending I was a cat. Then the minute I was able to have a cat, I adopted a pretty orange boy from the ASPCA. I am now the proud owner of 2 Kitties (Grendel 7 and Beowulf, Wulfie for short, 2). I am TNR certified and have worked with rescues to find homes for street kitties (my second kitty was a friendly TNR success story). I like to live my life surrounded by cats and books, so my 9-5 day job is a book editor at a major publishing company.

Learn More About Amy

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two fluffy kitties of my own named Grendel and Beowulf but she prefers to go by Wulfie.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I consider myself a cat whisperer and have rarely had cats not warm up to me. Only one cat has ever not warmed up to me. Even if the cats don’t fall in love with me, we usually reach a mutual understanding by the end of our time together. But I aim to let the cats come to me. I usually will sit in the living room and surround myself with their favorite treats, which usually does the trick.

Amy is the best!!! She genuinely cares about our Chives and it made us feel so much more at ease while we were away. Amy was very responsive and detail oriented which was especially important because Chives takes meds for asthma. She definitely went above and beyond—she was so thoughtful to ask about bringing a special kind of hydrating treat on med day. Will definitely be asking Amy to take care of Chives again in the future! :)

We were so concerned to leave our little guy who was feeling a bit under the weather while we needed to be out of town, but Amy was so kind and caring towards him and really put our minds at ease that he was in good hands . She was super reliable and prompt with updates and overall just a great caretaker for our kitty!

Amy was really an amazing Cat sitter for our little fur buddies. She’s clearly got away with cats, our two guys loved her. She sent us updates and pictures letting us know just how well they were doing with her. We really felt at ease being away while Amy was taking care of our boys. We would definitely book with her again.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
