After sharing a home with a sweet but very particular calico for two years and cat sitting for countless friends and friends of friends for most of my life, I feel confident that I can provide the care and attention your pets deserve while you're away, while providing you with enough peace of mind (and plenty of photo updates!) that by the time you get home, you AND your cats will hardly feel you were gone at all.

I have experience caring for cats of all personalities and preferences: cuddly, clingy kittens; older cats with who prefer to just be fed and left alone; shy boys with a knack for hide-and-seek; hyperactive insomniac cats; even a troublesome biter-and-scratcher who climbs cabinets but can be coaxed down by the right person... I'll ask questions about how best to care for YOUR cats, since you know them best, and I'll adapt my approach to make sure everyone's happy.

I'm located in the southwest quadrant of Crown Heights and service a number of adjacent neighborhoods. I walk or take public transportation, so I particularly appreciate reservations that are within a 20-minute walk of the President St subway stop, or anywhere accessible by the 2, 3, 4, 5 trains or the B43, B44, or B48 buses. I am willing to travel further/longer for extended overnight stays.

I work full-time in book publishing, mostly from home in Brooklyn, so I'm often available for longer visits during typical business hours if your cats need the company. I'm also always happy to consider overnights and extended stays.

I'm fully vaccinated against COVID, including boosters, and I still adhere to the recommended precautions regarding 20 seconds of hand-washing and masks in crowded public spaces.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I'll usually schedule an in-person meet-and-greet, both so I can meet the cat(s) and so the cat parents can see that I'm a real, normal person. If the client prefers, we can forego the in-person visit as long as they're able to provide clear care instructions, assurance that their cat won't be resistant to care from a new person, and a way to contact them reliably during the time of at least the first couple of visits.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I'm almost always available for holiday visits, but the winter holidays especially get booked very quickly, so I appreciate clients who make reservations at least a few weeks in advance so I can schedule appropriately.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is whatever the cat's favorite toy is—and almost all of them are weirdly obsessed with that $1 piece of wire with cardboard attached to it.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always respect a cat's need to feel safe, and as long as I'm able to physically confirm that they're present, eating, drinking, and using their litter box as necessary, I'll leave them alone if that's what they want. (I always ask owners if their cats have a favorite hiding spot!) But I've often found that cats do want to be friends with new people; they just need proof that the person can be trusted. In general, the best approach is to make myself available—slowly reaching a hand out, squatting down to their level or sitting on the floor, and waiting until they either come to me or walk away. It takes some time, but it hardly ever fails. :)

She was super responsive, attentive, and so sweet with both of our cats, and that’s saying something since we have one very sweet kitty and one very grouchy one. Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
