I grew up with a cat as my younger brother. I quickly got used to everything from inventing sophisticated games to...burying game in the backyard.
Cats usually consider me as another cat, not an equal, of course, that's not possible, but they hold me in high regard.
Most of my life I spent in households that had at least one cat... Hi, my name is Yulia. I happily live in Brooklyn. I recently moved here from LA, now exploring the opportunities this great city can offer. I currently have a remote office job, and also study online.

Most of my life I spent in households that had at least one cat. I built an amusement park for one! I know cats are extremely smart and capable of anything, so I love keeping their minds active.
I’ve been feeding stray cats for 10 years, helped 4 get adopted.
I’ve handled a few special needs cats: one was a baby who lost her mom, so I raised her using kitten formula; a few elderly fellows, and one extremely overweight, yet gorgeous, lady.
I have experience giving asthma medications to cats.
I'm very creative when it comes to play but follow instructions carefully when it comes to feeding and medications.
I generally keep my availability calendar up to date but ask me if you need a specific day or time. I often can move things around a bit, then I will open that time slot for you. If you see a date that is closed, still don't hesitate to message me. If it's possible logistically, I will be able to make it. Besides, more often than not, I can switch with my co-worker at my office job.
I'm boosted, wear a mask in public places, in clients' homes, wash hands, and use hand sanitizer.
P.S.: I'm also pretty great at pet photography and take very cool shots!

I enjoy interaction with cats. Everyone is so unique. I love getting to know their personalities.

I got to spend a weekend living with an adorable kitten!

Not at the moment, but I grew up with cats and had roommates with cats
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I would say, ask as many questions as you feel could be relevant. Any details will help. This way, when you come to work, all you need to do is spend time with the cats and have fun.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I follow the directions I was given. If a cat is not willing to be picked up or pet, I let them be. I observe the way the parent prefers their house to be - if a door is closed, keep it closed. I follow the feeding and medication guidelines precisely. But hey, overall, spending time with cats is quite safe and secure.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. If I'm out of town, I just close the day. Otherwise, I'm happy to stop by.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I'm pretty active. I love to run around with a ball or have the cat chase a string.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let them have their space and give them time to get used to me. Sometimes I leave a personal item in the house, so they get accustomed to my smell by the time I come back. Sitting on the floor to you don't tower over them also helps.

She was prompt to respond, and was very good and consistent with sending several videos and pictures daily to keep us up to date and involved. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone🥰😻

Yulia was great with our foster kitty during a few nights overnight visit. She was prompt to respond, sent lots of photos, and left the apartment in great shape. The only thing I will say is that she did not let us know when she was leaving/arriving back each day, which overnight cat sitters usually do, but we also did not ask her specifically to do this, so we can't really fault her for that. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Yulia was wonderful!! She provided awesome updates and the photos and videos made it clear our two cats loved her. Yulia was also very helpful in fixing our water fountain and feeder when our silly cats knocked those over. Would 100% recommend and work with Yulia again.

I was nervous about booking as I had recently lost my other cat and this was the first time my cat would be alone. Yulia took time to understand the needs of my cat and me! she was responsive, friendly, sent photos and videos. She even brought up a package for me that came. Yulia was a wonderful drop-in cat-sitter for my 7-year-old cat. She can be a little shy with new people but Yulia charmed her immediately. I received lots of updates as requested and in all of the photos and videos my cat looked clearly happy and well cared for. Yulia was terrific. My cat Tony is super shy and scared of everything and everyone. Yulia understood and gave him his space while taking expert care with his food and box and giving me stellar updates. Yulia did a great job. My kitty is very shy, but she tried hard to connect with her and make her feel less alone. Yulia provided me with daily updates including pictures and videos. This was such an easy process to set up and feel comfortable leaving out nuggets at home. Yulia was so friendly and easy going and had had cats growing up her whole life. We appreciated the constant communication and getting photos of the cats every time she visited. It was obvious she spent time playing with them as toys were everywhere! Even helped us out and watered our plants. Wonderful experience with a wonderful person.
