What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for about two years. During this time, I've gained a lot of experience and confidence in my ability to care for cats, ensuring their well-being and comfort. Now that I have more availability and space, I’m excited to extend my services to others. I truly enjoy spending time with cats, getting to know their unique personalities, and creating a calm and safe environment for them. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I look forward to continuing this work with new clients.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love being able to hang out with cats! Each cat is different and getting to hang out with them and learn what they like is a fun experience!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three wonderful cats: Shaggy, Mango, and Bean Garcia. Bean, who I've had the longest, is 5 years old. He's a bit shy but loves being pet and always follows me around. Mango, who I rescued from the streets and believe to be about 4, is extremely social and absolutely adores cuddles. Shaggy, my fiancé’s cat who’s now 3, is full of energy and has earned the nickname "zoom master." He doesn’t care much for being carried but is always on the move, keeping things lively at home. Each of them has such a unique personality, and it's been a joy getting to know them as they grow. 🐱

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

As a fellow cat owner, I would say to pick a sitter who you believe will adequately meet your pets’ needs and take the time to understand what you and your pet(s) require! Pick someone who’s vibe would flow well with your cat!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My own cat, Bean, is quite anxious and timid, so I’ve learned that he needs a quiet environment and plenty of patience. When handling timid or anxious cats, I make sure to respect their boundaries and take things slowly. It's important to me that they don’t see me as a threat, so I focus on gradually building trust. I do this by offering treats, engaging them with their favorite toys, and letting them approach me on their terms. This method has worked well with Bean, and I find it helps create a calm and comfortable atmosphere for any cat I care for.

My reservation went extremely well. Amanda did an excellent job of sending daily updates and photos. Our is old and not good with strangers it by the end of our reservation, she was allowing Amanda to lightly touch her. This was the second time that Amanda took care of my cat and I was very pleased.

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
