My name is Bri, and I am a former cat mama and kitty lover. I had an amazing cat for a little over 16 years - Cat Von D, AKA Grandma. Sadly she passed away a couple of years ago due to a brain tumour.

We had an amazing little life together, with my dogs as well, and one of the more difficult but fulfilling parts was making sure she was comfortable and happy during her final year. So, I have experience with senior kitties and with some illnesses. I’ve also fostered and bottle fed a few tiny kittens as well. (the cuteness overload is so real)
Would love to help out cat parents with peace of mind about their fur babies, especially while travelling which can also be stressful to begin with!
And I of course miss my cat very much - it would be lovely to just be around some kitties again!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I often cat sit for friends, and have been since I was a kid when I used to cat and pet sit for neighbours, so off & on for at least 20 years or so.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love reporting back to owners with pictures and/or stories. I know how stressful it can be to find really good, trustworthy pet care so I like to help ease any anxiety people may have about their fur babies while they are away. I also obviously just love cats and their personalities, and truly all animals!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I was cat sitting for one of my best friend’s kitties - shoutout Zuzu the cat - and in my friend’s nerves to leave her by herself, she sat out a few day’s worth of food for her. Of course I went to check on her Day One, and Zuzu was stuffing her face with all the food! She was really going to town, and ate almost the entire few days’ worth! I was alarmed at first and pulled all the food up and hung out for the day to watch her - she was totally fine, just with a big stuffed belly and she was SO sleepy snoozy. Once I knew she was fine, it was actually so hilarious and my friend and I still laugh about it to this day.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I usually am! I tend to stay in town and have very lowkey holiday celebrations with friends, and/or teach a special holiday fitness class. But I tend to have above-average holiday availability!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Da Bird cat toy! I feel like every cat I’ve ever known has so much fun with that thing. Or simply hair ties, my cat used to absolutely love playing with those.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Austin cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
