What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know the cats! By the end of my reservations with them, I can't wait to see them again. They truly become a lovely part of my routine and I look forward to seeing every cat I hang out with!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a gray cat named Delcine (del-seen) and she is an extremely outgoing and playful girl! Her name is actually Latin meaning “sweet”
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I understand that it’s scary! A meet and greet is super important and never feel ashamed of reaching out to your sitter with any questions or concerns.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Before driving to their home, I write a set of questions in my notebook and use the provided information to fill in some of them. Everything else is asked upon arrival and I double check everything I've written to make sure nothing is incorrect. I also make sure that every key I receive works before leaving!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It takes time to gain the trust of cats! Making sure that they know your scent is important, but so is tone of voice and the way we approach them. It’s always best to crouch down to their level.

Anisah sent me a lot of thorough updates. I worried the least because she gave me so much information about my cat like how much he’s eating, drinking water, pooping, how active he is, how he’s feeling, and if he’s gradually getting used to her. She’s the best!

This was our first time hiring a pet sitter for our cats, and we were pretty nervous about being away for five days. Our meet and greet with Anisah really put us at ease, she asked all the right questions, even ones we hadn’t thought of, and took great notes. While we were gone, she sent regular updates with photos and videos, and I looked forward to them every day. She even brought in our mail and packages. We’ll definitely rehire her for our future trips if she’s available. Highly Highly recommend!

i can’t even begin to describe the incredible care of my cat, Buffy, that Anisah provided!!! 🥹 i had never left her for more than a few days and she is a very anxious bb, so I was very nervous for 8 days- but with Anisahs detailed updates and pics, diligence in understanding what my cat needed, and genuine affection shown- my heart/mind was at ease! Anisah went above and beyond for Buffy (and me) and I couldn’t be more grateful! we both feel like we won the jackpot of cat sitters! 😻

Anisah was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! From the very first meet and greet, she made my fiancé and me feel so comfortable leaving our cats in her care. She took the time to write down notes and asked multiple questions about our cats and their personalities, including their feeding schedules. She even went out of her way to buy a replacement toy for our cats when one accidentally broke. Anisah sent multiple videos and pictures daily! Our three boys loved her as well and instantly felt comfortable with her. We will most definitely be booking with her again!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Austin cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
